Corptax, a corporate tax software company, needed to relocate over 170 employees to a new headquarters while minimizing costs and disruption. They worked with Evolution Interiors to refurbish and install Haworth furniture throughout their new 32,000 square foot space in multiple phases. This allowed for a seamless transition at a much lower price than new furniture. The refurbished Haworth Places systems provided an open floor plan with light and sound protection. Evolution also handled the disposal of 170 workstations from the old office. The project was a success that met Corptax's goals of saving money while embracing sustainability.

The power of good
As a business model, affiliate marketing is a proven way to scale your sales and distribution. Can this model evolve, and produce social good? In this session, Sponsor Energy’s Carolyn Martin looks at rethinking affiliate sales with a win-win approach that benefits both nonprofits and end users.
Carolyn will look at traditional sales and distribution approaches, their challenges and strengths, and how rethinking your go-to-market strategy can reveal new tools that get past prospects’ resistance and create real social benefits.

Docker's value for Development Teams in a DevOps ProcessLaurent Goujon
This flash study exposes how Docker technology can be considered as a lever for digital transformations and DevOps deployments, and used as an industrial tool to transform the way we manufacture and run applications and software.
Kubernetes particularly schedules and runs application containers on clusters of physical or virtual machines. Containers make it easier to host and manage the lifecycle of web applications inside a portable environment more efficiently and quickly. These containers act as replicas and serve to load balance incoming requests, and docker is the generally used tool used to deploy containers inside clusters (while rkt is another option to containerize the application). Docker containers are efficient in managing packaged applications. Containerization allows development teams to move quickly, deploy software more efficiently and consistently
With agile and DevOps processes are already widely adopted by enterprises, the enterprises continue to deploy more and more containerized applications in recent years. A leading global analyst report states that more than 75% of global organizations will be running containerized applications in production by 2022 due to the advantage of containerization.
This is a content that cover the introduction into DevOps on a conceptual level and how, containerisation could help tp improve the DevOps lifecycle. Therefore, also contains an introduction to Docker which was followed by a practical session.
Chugging Our Own "Craft Brew” – HPE’s Journey Towards Containers-as-a-Service...Docker, Inc.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise has a vast IT organization that consists of 15k Dev + Ops professionals, operating in 11 countries, with hundreds of development teams working together on over 1000 projects. Millions of lines of code get changed every day, generating 20,000+ change request in an average year. And now, we’re on a journey to building a Docker environment for this massive organization, to serve the needs of our own multi-billion dollar enterprise. This session showcases our own learnings across multiple phases of our containerization project, with real life experiences from both the Dev and Ops perspectives. We’ll also talk about shared experiences from some of HPE’s customers. “Coding” our infrastructure with Docker, one application image, one deployment command, multiple deployment models – this is an “extreme” tale of how one of the world’s largest enterprises is fully embracing Docker.

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

Corptax Case Study
1. Case Study
Corptax, LLC.
Objective: As the most comprehensive,
integrated corporate tax software solutions provider in
the industry, Corptax made the choice to furnish the
majority of their new corporate headquarters with
refurbished products. This decision not only saved
tens of thousands of dollars, but also protected the
environment from unneeded furniture disposal.
Corptax’s main goal was to perform a multi floor move
with over one hundred and seventy employees and a
complete data center. The challenge was to have a
seamless transition and perform the move without
interrupting day-to-day business operations. In
addition, due to budgetary requirements, Corptax
needed a low cost solution that provided the software
programmers a quiet but esthetically pleasing space.
At the core of this was the need to embrace the natural
light so all the employees throughout the space could
appreciate the outside environment. Lastly, to close
out the project, Corptax needed to dispose one
hundred and seventy SC 9000 stations. This
presented Corptax with two additional challenges.
First, how to maximize the value of the product; and
second, how to ensure the furniture was reused and
reintroduced into the marketplace to further protect the
environment.

Project and Products: Evolution Interiors (EI)

a multiphase fashion to meet the move schedule.
Why the furniture worked: Evolution Interiors (EI)
provided refurbished Haworth Places panel systems in
a multiphase fashion to meet the move schedule.
Each phase was delivered and installed as directed by
the project management team. The 32,000 sq. ft
facility utilizes Haworth Places multi-height and clear
glass open plan systems. Corptax’s new floor plan
has an open and accessible feel, which allows for the
transfer of light, but also protects the interior acoustics
of each workstation.
Why Evolution?
“ROE- Evolution provided a turnkey solution
from the decommissioning of our old furniture to
the installation of the new furniture. The
aesthetics of the refurbished products exceeded
our expectations and had a like new quality.”
