Coral reefs are ecosystems built by colonies of corals and tiny animals found in the tropics of the Pacific, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans. The three main threats to coral reefs are fishermen poisoning reefs with cyanide to catch fish, sewage promoting harmful algae growth, and boat anchors severely damaging reef structures.
