6. Rang De Basanti
• Arriving in India, a UK
graduate enlists a gang of
college students to participate
in a documentary about
India's freedom fighters.
• Initially, these students scoff
at the ideals and people of the
past, but a sequence of events
set in slow motion a merging
of the past and present.

7. Rang De Basanti
• The first incident is that of the protest at India Gate
demanding justice for a movie character played by R
Madhavan who died in a MIG crash.
• Then comes the second part. In the movie, the
bunch of youngsters resort to violence looking for a
solution to the problem. It was a quick fix solution,
which gave them personal gratification, but as
shown in the final scene of the movie, didn’t lead to
any concrete changes but did jounce the people.
• The third and most important lesson
that RDB raised and teaches us still is about the
conflict between liberals and Right wing extremists.

8. Swades
• Swades is a terrific movie which
sends a message of patriotic
love. Mohan (SRK) is a scientist
working for NASA who returns
India to take back an elderly
women (Kaveriamma) who
helped him grew up.
• Mohan discovers, and realizes
more about Indian origins.
• He realizes that his country
requires him more than any
other country.
• He starts and successfully
completes a project of providing
electricity to the village in which
Kaveriamma is residing.

9. Swades
• First incident was when Haridas tells Mohan that since
his caste profession of a weaver wasn't earning him any
money, he shifted to tenant farming. But this change in
profession led to his ostracization from the village and
the villagers even denied him water for his crops.
• In second incident he learns that electricity
inconsistency and frequent power cuts are a big problem
in Charanpur. He decides to set up a small hydroelectric
power generation facility from a nearby water source.
Mohan purchases all the equipment needed from his
own funds and oversees the building of the power
generation unit. The unit works and the village gets
sufficient, consistent power from it.

10. Neerja
• Neerja is the story of the
courageous Neerja Bhanot,
who sacrificed her life while
protecting the lives of 359
passengers on the Pan Am
flight 73 in 1986. The flight
was hijacked by a terrorist
organization.

11. Neerja
• First incident was scene when Neerja had an arranged
marriage in and joined her husband in Doha, Qatar.
However, the marriage soon deteriorated following
alleged dowry pressure and she returned to her parents'
home in Mumbai within two months.
• Secondly, She and the other attendants under her
charge hid the passports of the 41 Americans on board so
that the hijackers could not differentiate between
American and Non-American passengers.
• Thirdly, After 17 hours, the hijackers opened fire and set
off explosives. Neerja opened one of the airplane doors,
and started helping the other passengers escape.
