This document summarizes oil product consumption in Italy for the first half of 2013 and 2012. It shows that total oil product sales decreased by 8.1% from 4,753 thousand tonnes in 2012 to 4,370 thousand tonnes in 2013. Diesel fuel consumption decreased the most, falling by 7.4% from 2,320 thousand tonnes to 2,149 thousand tonnes year-over-year. Refinery consumption and losses also declined substantially, dropping 12.2% from 370 thousand tonnes to 325 thousand tonnes between 2012 and 2013.
