This document provides specifications for "The Smoke Box" console. It has a powerful multi-core processor, 8GB of RAM, an mid-to-high tier graphics card, HDMI output up to 1080p, 1TB external hard drive for storage, external power supply, support for various controllers including standard gamepad, ethernet and wireless connectivity, and an interface using layered spheres for menu control.

There will be room for more RAM But
the standard console will only come
out with 8GB to keep the cost of the
console reasonable.
Graphics Processor
Mid to high teir graphics card. A bit
expensive but perfect for what this
console is meant to achieve.
Output Display
HDMI – 720p – 1080p
HDMI is the most relyable video
display to use
because it has become the standard.

Storage Media
1TB external HDD replaceable with
500GB external HDD
Allows for a lot of room for installing
and saving large games e.g. Elder
Scrolls: Skyrim and Grand Theft Auto
5. The hard drive will be removable
for travel and compatible with PC’s
for cross platform save files.
Power Supply
External Power supply because this
console uses heavy duty parts that
can over heat the system without
proper ventilation.
Controllers
This console has cross platform
controller support for all controllers
including wiimote and mouse and
keyboard but comes with a standard
gamepad.
Connectivity
Ethernet cable and Wireless adapter
Ethernet ports have become the norm in
most technology today so it would be
wrong to not have one as well. WIFI as
well.
Human Computer Interface
The interface will use
spheres with inner layers to
allow a very free range of
control over the menu
system.
