2. One of the things I still use with my own teenager is a request for a collection of
his favorite songs. In my classroom I would ask my students to do this early in
the year. They were always surprised I was interested and that I did listen to
the songs and ask them about why they picked them. I would use this CD
often in my writing curriculum as well AND for the students in developing their
own self-reflection and life goals.
