Two of the three largest data breaches in healthcare industry history have occurred in the past six months – exposing personally identifiable patient and health plan membership records on 84.5 million individuals – a number equal to the populations of California, Texas, New York and Nevada combined. Both breaches were attributed to hackers from China. These, and other massive hacks in financial services and retail, prompted President Obama to sign an executive order in February calling on government and the private sector to step up the nation's defenses against cybersecurity threats.

However, its accuracy depends on the quality of input data and it may have limitations for complex cases.
The study found that patient confidence in visiting healthcare providers is increasing in May. The percentage of patients delaying appointments is at its lowest level. Most patients expect to resume regular in-office visits within the next 1-2 months. Comfort levels in visiting primary care physicians and specialists have also increased. The use of telemedicine has grown significantly during the pandemic with 30% of patients using it in the past 3 months. Over half of patients feel that some appointments can be replaced by telehealth.
Rachel Baggaley presented an overview of HIV self-testing at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation meeting. There is a large testing gap, with only 45% of people living with HIV knowing their status. HIV self-testing could help close this gap by making testing more convenient and private. Several HIV self-testing products are in development using oral fluid or whole blood samples. Early evidence shows high acceptability of HIV self-testing, though accuracy can vary depending on how it is administered. Linkage to care also seems promising when self-testing is coupled with support services. More research is still needed on self-testing among key populations and in resource-limited settings.

According to the analysis of the diagnosis process, AI-assisted medical imaging are mainly used in the screening phase. A patient's CT image consists of about 150 to 200 images. Doctors need to view the image of the patient one by one. Especially in the early stage of the coronavirus outbreak, doctors who are unfamiliar with the disease need to spend about 1 hour to check the images of a patient. Even a skilled doctor needs more than ten minutes. However, with AI-assisted screening, the lesions in each image can be marked with the size and proportion of the lesions. Doctors can just browse the image to perform qualitative analysis.
