Course Highlights
The Investment Readiness Training is a comprehensive, inter-active three-day course taught by microfinance
capital markets/investment experts from the Center for Financial Inclusion at ACCION International, EDA
Rural Systems and Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA). Subjects covered include:

   Types of funding available including recent trends in the capital markets
   Business plans for the investor: What constitutes a good one? Where do MFIs often go wrong?
   Selecting the right investors for your MFI
   The critical role of Governance
   Understanding the expectations of and building relationships with funders and potential investors
   Negotiating the term sheet: Hands on practice and role play
   Making good choices in share-holding structure
   Valuation: An interactive approach to theory of valuation and valuation methodologies
   Closing and exits

Logistics & Details
Course duration – 3 days
 Target MFIs – Senior management of MFIs seeking to widen supply of debt capital and/or beginning the
   quest for equity investment
 Course Fee (per person) – Rs12,000 (or US$300 if paid on line by credit card). Course fee includes all
   training materials, lunches, tea/coffee and certificate during training plus one ticket to MCCM South Asia
   and the accompanying Investment Marketplace. Please note that there is a 10.3% service tax applicable on
   fees paid in Indian rupees.

Microfinance Cracking the Capital Markets South Asia (MCCM)

Conference Highlights
ACCION International, the originator of the Microfinance Cracking the Capital Markets Conference series, is
partnering with EDA Rural Systems to provide investment readiness training and organize MCCM South Asia
2010 and accompanying Investment Marketplace. MCCM will bring together a wide range of finance
professionals – institutional and private investors, leading microfinance institutions, specialized microfinance
investment funds, international and local banks, central bankers, and rating agencies – to discuss the successes,
challenges and trends of microfinance investment in South Asia – with particular focus on India. Attendees will
meet the new players, explore recent deals and assess the marketplace in an engaging 1.5-day program with six
panels and plenty of time for networking. MCCM 2010 also includes an Investment Marketplace on Day Two
to bring together MFIs with debt and equity investors to facilitate introductions and deal-making in a
comfortable booth setting.
