If certain conditions are met in the present, then certain other events will or may occur in the present (Type 0) or future (Type 1). Type 0 conditionals express general truths or instructions using the simple present tense in both clauses. Type 1 conditionals use the simple present in the if-clause and future forms or modals in the other clause to suggest or remind. Examples are given for each type.
