THE CREW
X was the man booker prize winner under the category of fiction
in 2002. According to X, none of the emotions portrayed in his
book was merely fiction but was based on the research he did on
Simba, a wonky legged lion(a downside of too much inbreeding)
who was a resident of the Trivandrum Zoo. In fact all the animals
described in the book except the doomed Orang-utan can be
found living in the Zoo. With one failed book behind him, X had
spent 6 months in south India in 1996. In fact, even the central
theme of the novel, where religion and zoology are intertwined
in an intricate balance is said to be inspired by his stay in Kerala
and especially his time in Thiruvananthapuram, which has a
multitude of faiths to offer. Who is X? Which novel? Images

Among other things, X is the proud owner of a 1976 Austin Citron
green Leyland Mini 1000 with a matte black bonnet. The car had
multiple anti-theft features including an external padlock for the
door and a removable steering wheel which proved instrumental
in stopping the theft of his pride possession. The car thief had
managed to break the padlock and even hotwire the car, only to
realize that the car lacked a steering wheel. Top gear praised the
car for being “reasonably priced”, its quirkiness being an
extension of the man himself. X recently took his mini on a Joy ride
around Buckingham palace back in September 2015. The car was
laden with gifts so he had to recreate a stunt he pulled off in 1994
for an entirely different reason. Who is X and What stunt?

The X syndrome a disorder that manifests in infants and is
characterized by multiple, symmetric, circular skin creases, or
bands, on the forearms, lower legs, and often the neck that
are present at birth. These crease which often disappear as
the baby grows, are similar to those found on Bibendum, one
of the oldest surviving trademarks and the mascot of a world
famous company. Give me X, a term which arises from this
chance similarity to the company mascot. Images follow.

In 1955, a Bollywood movie directed, produced by and Starring Raj
Kapoor along with Nargis Dutt took the film industry by storm,
becoming the highest grossing Indian film of 1955 at around 20
million rupees. The film has made lasting effects in Indian history
including causing the erstwhile MPs (both Lok Sabha and Rajysa
Sabha)to demand an increment of their salaries by one rupee, even
though the pay revision had happened in 1954. One of the songs used
in the movie, where the singer asserts his pride in being an Indian
despite his clothes being from other countries, became, and remains,
a patriotic favourite among many Indians. It is often referenced,
including in an acceptance speech at the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2006
by Bengali author Mahasweta Devi and gained international fame,
particularly in the Soviet Union. Which movie? Which song? Images

In the 1950s, India was going through a nationwide famine. X in a
historic blunder decided to import wheat from USA. The wheat
was of inferior quality and was mixed with a contaminant that
would soon result in an epidemic of epic proportions. The
government had failed to perform quality checks on the
shipments before distribution and hence the seeds of this weed
found its way to the masses. Even when it started appearing, the
government did not take adequate measures to control its
outgrowth. What resulted was an invasive species taking roots all
over India. The people who were fed up with the incompetency of
the government nicknamed the plant as X grass as they saw it a
gift of the erstwhile government. Which plant? X?

According to an interview with Corriere Della Sera, Iron Maiden
lead singer Bruce Dickinson announced the track ‘Tears of a
clown’ was inspired by X’s life. Dickinson calls it his “favourite
song” on the new set, musing on the tragedy of Xs’ apparent
happiness and eagerness to spread the laughs, when he was
struggling with depression and illness on the inside. It appears as
track nine on the new LP and was written by Maiden’s Adrian
Smith and Steve Harris. When he recorded the song, Bruce was
unaware of the subject of the song but left him in awe at the
struggles of X after the identity was revealed to him. Which

All alone in a crowded room
He tries to force a smile
The smile it beamed or so it seemed
But never reached the eyes, disguise
Masquerading as the funny man do they despise
The false smile maketh of the man
Glass empty or half full
Try to make some sense or sorrows drown
All looks well on the outside
Underneath the solemn truth
There’s something that inside has died
Tomorrow comes tomorrow goes
But the cloud remains the same
Wonder why he’s feeling down
Tears of a clown
Maybe it’s all just for the best
Lay his weary head to rest
Was forever feeling drowned
Tears of a clown
The trio was created by X during one of his stays at the Townsville
prison. X through an anonymous phone call had extracted the
original recipe used to make his arch enemies and made his own
alterations to it to make them “tougher” and more “manly”. The
variations were based on items that were available to him in the
prison, including snips (underarm hair), snails (escargot from the
prison cafeteria), a puppy dog tail, and some murky black slime on
the prison toilet as the “Extra ingredient” to the concoction. The
choices for the same is based on the nursery rhyme “What are
little boys made of?”. Who is X? By what name do we know the
trio?

In 2008, an activist group purchased a plot in the Louisville
cemetery in the name of a certain Mathew Prescott who was
then a living member of the organization. The placement of the
plot was strategic as it was placed right next to the final resting
place of a very famous entrepreneur. Inscribed on the epitaph
was a seemingly harmless poem . The true purpose of the
epitaph however, was to make a very serious allegation against
the business of the entrepreneur in question. Who? Which
organization was responsible for this stunt? The poem is in next

X was a surprisingly gifted semi-secret artist and among other things was an
extremely enthusiastic amateur musician. He started drawing at the age of 44
in 1962, after a series of amicable arguments about art vs. science with his
artist-friend Jirayr “Jerry” Zorthian — the same friend to whom X’s timeless
ode to a flower was in response. Eventually, the two agreed that they’d
exchange lessons in art and science on alternate Sundays. X then went on to
draw countless sketches from strippers, naked women, puppy dogs and even
his own children under the pseudonym OFEY as he wanted to sell his artworks.
“My friend Dudley Wright suggested “Au Fait,” which means “It is done” in
French. I spelled it O-f-e-y, which turned out to be a name the blacks used for
“whitey.” But after all, I was whitey, so it was all right.” This is X trying to
describe the rationale behind him using choosing a pseudonym. Identify X.

The term ‘X’ is prominent in the contemporary discussion of Latin
American Politics. According to the BBC, a common element of X
is a clean break with what was known at the outset of the 1990s
as the 'Washington consensus', the mixture of open
markets and privatisation pushed by the United
States". According to Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, a X
president herself, Hugo Chávez of Venezuela, Lula da Silva of
Brazil and Evo Morales of Bolivia were "the three musketeers" of
the left in South America and ushered in X. Id the term X, which is
a variant of the term used to describe harmful algal blooms,

In 2004, WWF Australia started discussions with an advertising
agency Leo Burnett Sydney, to "discuss ideas for engaging
Australians on the issue of climate change“, upon the release of
a set of very concerning climate data. X was originally

Australia presented their concept to Fairfax Media who, along
with the erstwhile Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore, agreed to
back the event. The first edition of the event was held on 31st
March in Sydney at 7:30 PM local time. This year is the 10th

In formal game theory terms, X is a non-chance, combinatorial game
with perfect information. This means that no dice are used in
decision making and that all outcomes are combinatorial with all
moves visible to both players. Perfect information ensures that
players can theoretically know about all past moves. X, which
literally means “encircling game” in Chinese, is an abstract strategy
board game for two players, in which the aim is to surround more
territory than the opponent. The game originated in ancient China
more than 2,500 years ago, and is one of the oldest board games
played today. It was considered one of the four essential arts of a
cultured Chinese scholar in antiquity. X recently made news when a
feat previously thought to be impossible was accomplished by an AI
owned by Google by acquiring London based AI firm Deep Mind in

In English, X means the peak of perfection, a concept
which easily transfers over to the fictitious name of a
company in a cartoon, movie or book. In the Y show, X
features prominently as a running gag featuring
outlandish products that fail or backfire catastrophically
at the worst possible times, hence making the choice of
name ironic. What generic corporate that makes
practically everything imaginable?

According to his great-grandmother Old Nan, his real name is
Walder. “No one knew where ‘X’ had come from,” she says,
“but when he started saying it, they started calling him by it.
It was the only word he had.”
X is possibly the victim of an extreme case of “expressive
aphasia”. This normally involves a localized stroke that
damages the front and left side of the brain, but other causes
include a blow to the head, or a tumor. X has limited mental
capabilities (even though he seems to understand and
respond to complex instructions) but Given X’s enormous
height and girth, it is more likely that X was dropped on his
head as a baby. Who is this gentle giant ?

At an open end of the room on the left, a wide-eyed bull stands
over a woman grieving over a dead child in her arms. The
center is occupied by a horse falling in agony as if it had just
been run through by a spear or javelin. The large gaping wound
in the horse's side is a major focus of the painting. Under the
horse is a dead, apparently dismembered soldier; his hand on a
severed arm still grasps a shattered sword from which a flower
grows. On the open palm of the dead soldier is a stigma, a
symbol of martyrdom derived from the stigmata of Christ. A
light bulb blazes in the shape of an evil eye over the suffering
horse's head (the bare bulb of the torturer's cell). X's intended
symbolism in regard to this object is related to the Spanish
word for light bulb. Which painting? Who is X?

Expurgation is a form of censorship which involves purging
anything deemed noxious or offensive, usually from an
artistic work. Bowdlerization is a pejorative term for the
practice, particularly the expurgation of lewd material from
books. The term derives from Thomas Bowdler's 1818 edition
of William Shakespeare's plays, which he reworked in order to
make them more suitable, in his opinion, for women and
children. A ___-____ edition is such a bowdlerized text,
deriving from a particular practice regarding classical and
Renaissance works of art. FITB.

EMS Namboodiripad, known popularly as EMS, was
the first Chief Minister of Kerala. As a member of
the Communist Party of India (CPI), he became the
first non-Indian National Congress chief minister in
the Indian republic. In 1964, he led a faction of the
CPI that broke away to form the Communist Party of

Q2.X is a standard element of Indian, particularly Konkani,
cuisine, derived from the Portuguese carne de vinha
d'alhos(Literally meat, wine and garlic),a dish
of meat (usually pork) marinated in wine and garlic. In its
basic structure, it was the Portuguese sailor's 'preserved'
raw ingredients, packed in wooden barrels of alternate
layers of pork and garlic, and soaked in wine. This was
'Indianized' by the local Goan Christian cooks, by the
substitution of palm vinegar for the red wine and the
addition of dried 'red' chili peppers with additional spices
to evolve into the local and easy to pronounce
"X”. Nowadays, the Anglo-Indian version of X is
marinated in vinegar, sugar, fresh ginger, and spices
overnight, then cooked with the addition of further spices.
What fiery-hot dish X?
Vindaloo (Indianization of vinha d’alhos)
Q3.The X is a hip-length tailored coat for men or women,
with a mandarin collar. Unlike the achkan, which falls
somewhere below the knees of the wearer, the X is
shorter, resembling a military-style jerkin. It began to be
marketed as the X in Europe and America in the mid-
1960s. It was briefly popular there in the late 1960s and
early 1970s, its popularity spurred by growing awareness
of foreign cultures, by the minimalism of the Mod
lifestyle and, in particular, by the Beatles and
subsequently the Monkees. Several villains in the James
Bond film series, including Dr. No, Karl
Stromberg and Kamal Khan, appear wearing the X.
Ironically, a certain person rarely wore the X himself,
preferring instead the more traditional achkan/sherwani
or Western suit-and-tie. Name X.

On November 24th 1973, a United States Navy
Douglas Super DC-3 airplane was forced to land on
Sólheimasandur’s black sand beach in the south of
Iceland after experiencing some severe
icing. Amazingly, the crew all survived the impact, but
the plane was abandoned rather than recovered, the
weather beaten remains still seated at the original
crash site. The interior of the DC-3 plane has been
completely gutted of seats and any hallmarks of a
military aircraft by 40 years of extreme weather.
Although it is missing its tail and half of both wings,
the rest of the plane’s shell is amazingly well
preserved. Why has this piece wreckage come to the
limelight, in the context of the Indian film industry?
It featured in the song sequence for ‘Gerua’ in
‘Dilwaale’
Q5.
X and Y are often thought of as variants of each other,
but that isn’t so. X is an Odia Brahmin surname used by
the Utkala Brahmins. The families with that surname
once expertised 10 granthas (books) assigned
to Vedas especially Shukla Yajurveda, hence the origin
of the surname, a condensation of the Sanskrit phrase
दशः ग्रन्थाध्यययन् दाशः, or the one who is well versed in all
the ten tomes of the Vedas. Y on the other hand is a
Sanskrit word implying devotion or service to God. It is
a surname found over most of India, most commonly
among Punjabi Brahmins, Maulika Kayasthas of Bihar
and Bengal, and among Bengali Vaidyas (sometimes in
the form Y-Gupta). Give me the two sound-alike
surnames.
X = Dash
Y = Das
Q6.
The X was a small Indian copper coin. The coin was first
introduced by Sher Shah Suri during his rule of India
between 1540 and 1545, along with Mohur, the gold coin
and Rupiya the silver coin. Later on, the Mughal Emperors
standardised the coin along with other silver (Rupiya) and
gold (Mohur) coins in order to consolidate the monetary
system across India. Watch Your Language lists the coin
as one of the possible sources for the English phrase Y
(which appends an ‘n’ to X), due to its small worth when
contrasted with the sterling, but provides other sources as
well. Y, ironically, has nothing to do with Hell and
punishment. A famous line containing Y is responsible for
making the usage of religious slander (like ‘hell’)

The X temple is a famous temple in Deshnoke, Rajasthan,
which is dedicated to the 14th century Hindu sage X. The
temple was created following X’s mysterious disappearance
from Deshnoke. The temple is famous for the approximately
20,000 kabbas contained in the temple. Many people travel
great distances to pay their respect. There is a local story
explaining the origin of the kabbas. According to this
version, a 20,000 strong army deserted a nearby battle and
came running to Deshnoke. Upon learning of the sin of
desertion, punishable by death, X spared their lives and
offered the temple as a future place to stay, but turned them
into kabbas as punishment. The kabbas are treated with
utmost regard. The only replacement for a kabba is its
replica in silver. White kabbas are the most sacred of all. ID

X is a protest song that became an anthem of the
US Civil Rights Movement. Girija Kumar Mathur
composed its literal translation in Hindi, Y, which
became a popular song during the 1980s. The
song was used as a propaganda tool by the
government of Indira Gandhi during the
Emergency. In Kerala, the song was translated by
N. P. Chandrasekharan and became popular in
college campuses in the late 1970s. X was a
prominent song in the 2010 Bollywood film My

X is a waterfall in South India on the river Kaveri. It is
located in the Dharmapuri district of the southern
Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is sometimes referred to
as the "Niagara of India". With its fame for medicinal
baths and hide boat rides, it is a major tourist
attraction. Carbonatite rocks in this site are
considered to be the oldest of its kind in South Asia
and one of the oldest in the world. This is also the site
of a proposed project to generate drinking water. The
name of this waterfall comes from
two Kannada words, smoke and rock; literally
translating to smoking rocks, describing the smoky

Q12.X has been observed since 2000 to promote peace. The date
corresponds to the day in 1952 when students from
the University of Dhaka, Jagannath University and Dhaka
Medical College, demonstrating for the recognition
of Bengali as one of the two national languages of East
Pakistan, were shot dead by police near the Dhaka High Court
in the capital of present-day Bangladesh. In respect of the
martyrs — students Rafiq, Jabbar, Salam, Borkot and others
who died during the protest at the University of Dhaka on
February 21, 1952 — the people in Bangladesh celebrate X by
laying down flowers to the Martyr's Monument (Shoheed Minar)
and replications of that monument. The people organize social
gatherings, where they honor their culture, and hold literary
competitions, draw Alpana on the roads, eat festive meals and
listen to event themed songs, e.g. the "Amar Bhaiyer Rakte

X, also known by its Bayer designation Alpha
Scorpii (abbreviated to α Scorpii or α Sco), is the
fifteenth brightest star in the nighttime sky and the
brightest star in the constellation Scorpius, and is
often referred to as "the heart of the scorpion". X is a
supergiant and is one of the largest and
most luminous observable stars. The name of this
star, derives from the Ancient Greek for "equal/rival
to ____ ", due to the similarity of its hue to Y. The
comparison of X with Y may have originated with
early Mesopotamian astronomers. However, some
scholars have speculated that the star may have
been named after Antar, or Antarah ibn Shaddad, the
Arab warrior-hero celebrated in the pre-Islamic
poems Mu'allaqat. Give me X (no points for Y).

L'Inconnue de la Seine or "The Unknown Woman of the Seine"
was an unidentified young woman whose putative death mask
became a popular fixture on the walls of artists' homes after 1900.
Her visage inspired numerous literary works. In the United States,
the mask is also known as "La Belle Italienne". In the following
years, numerous copies were produced. The copies quickly
became a fashionable morbid fixture in
Parisian Bohemian society. Albert Camus and others compared
her enigmatic smile to that of the Mona Lisa, inviting numerous
speculations as to what clues the eerily happy expression in her
face could offer about her life, her death. And her place in the
society. Critic Al Alvarez wrote in his book on suicide, The Savage
God: "I am told that a whole generation of German girls modelled
their looks on her." Besides all this, this face has often been
referred to as ‘the most kissed face of all time’. Why? Image

X was first isolated from the destructive
distillation of indigo, a plant used to
produce blue dye, in 1826. In 1834, it was
also isolated from coal tar. Further
attempts by several scientists yielded X by
different processes and, in 1841, C. J.
Fritzsche gave this blue oil the name “X”,
from the specific name of one of the indigo-
yielding plants, in turn being derived from
the Sanskrit nīla, dark-blue, and nīlā, the
indigo plant. What aromatic compound X?

state of Illinois, have invented a new and improved
manner of combining adjustable buoyant air chambers
with a steam boat or other vessel for the purpose of
enabling their draught of water to be readily lessened to
enable them to pass over bars, or through shallow
water, without discharging their cargoes.” It is the only
United States patent ever registered to a person of X’s
profession. X conceived the idea of inventing a
mechanism that would lift a boat over shoals and
obstructions in rivers when on two different occasions
the boat on which he travelled got hung up on
obstructions. ID X.

The icon used in all of Y’s projects is a reference to the
Xs collected by École Centrale's Networking Students'
Association. One day, people from the VIA association
(VIA is a students’ network association with many
clubs, one of them being Y) at École Centrale came
back drunk with a X. They then began a X collection
(which is now quite impressive, it must be said).
Sometime later, the Y project began and they decided to
use the X as their logo. The X icon design was changed
from a hand drawn low resolution icon to a higher
resolution CGI-rendered version in 2006, illustrated by
Richard Øiestad. What common roadside item X, and
the organization Y?

Puck the Faerie Dragon is a highly
mobile ranged intelligence hero in the DotA
universe best known for being an extremely
unpredictable and slippery target. Puck is commonly
played as an initiator and ganker, with spells that are
equally useful for super-aggressive manoeuvers as
well as daring escapes. Puck is a tribute to its
namesake from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's
Dream; aside from Puck's impish and playful attitude
which mirrors that of the Shakespearean Puck, its
line "A midsummer nightmare" is also an allusion to
the play. The majority of Puck’s dialogues also pay
homage to the Bard in a certain way. How? Image

Q10.
X is a psychological phenomenon described in 1973 in
which hostages express empathy and sympathy and have
positive feelings toward their captors, sometimes to the
point of defending and identifying with the captors. X
takes its roots from the Norrmalmstorg robbery during
which, several bank employees were held hostage in a
bank vault from August 23 to 28, 1973, while their captors
negotiated with police. During this standoff, the victims
became emotionally attached to their captors, rejected
assistance from government officials at one point, and
even defended their captors after they were freed from
their six-day ordeal. The FBI's Hostage Barricade
Database System shows that roughly eight percent of
victims show evidence of X. What is X, which has a very
popular Bollywood reference?
Stockholm Syndrome (seen in

Q11.
A Nike advertising campaign has emerged which
describes X as ‘the bullet in the chamber’. The
advert is believed to date back to 2011 but re-
emerged on the morning of an infamous incident
involving X. About the incident, Nike said: “Nike
extends its deepest sympathy and condolences to all
families concerned following this tragic incident. As
it is a police matter, Nike will not comment further at
this time.” Although the ad has since been pulled off,
it remains to this date among the worst advertising
blunders of all time. Incidentally, X was also involved
in a 2008 Nike ad featuring other athletes with a
voiceover saying, “This is my weapon”. ID X.

Q12.
X was an engine manufacturing company founded in
Germany in 1916. Being a German company, as per the
terms dictated by the Versailles Armistice treaty, it had
to cease its aircraft-engine manufacturing after the
end of the First World War in 1918. The company
consequently shifted to motorcycle production as the
restrictions of the treaty started to be lifted in 1923,
followed by automobiles in 1928–29. The logo of this
company has been portrayed as the movement of an
aircraft propeller with the blades cutting through the
sky—but this is not the origin of the logo itself
although it has often been cited so, including a
reference to it in the movie ‘Finding Forrester’. Which
company?
BMW (Bawarian Motor Works)
Q13.
Running cable in tight spaces has long posed a problem for
designers and engineers in a wide variety of fields. The human
arm is only so small and so flexible, metal wire snakes can only
handle so many bends and snag frequently, and in many
installations it’s impossible to put the wire in ahead of time or
take apart the structure later to more easily place it. For over a
century X have been employed as cable carriers in all manner of
locations inaccessible to humans. In World War II, engineers at
Offutt Air Force Base used X to run cables inside the B-26 and B-
29 flying fortresses. In the summer of 1981 when Lady Diana
married Prince Charles, X were employed to run cables for
television and radio broadcasts through the walls of St. Paul’s
Cathedral in order to preserve the historic architecture. Despite
advances in micro-robotics and other technological solutions to
the cable-pulling problem, X continue to serve as economical
and easy-to-deploy solutions in a variety of settings. What is X?
Ferrets (not kidding)
Q14.
X is a blanket term with ironic connotations thought to
have been coined in an article in Wired magazine in
1997 and used by international, including Chinese,
media to refer to legislation and projects initiated by
the Chinese government (which is controlled by the
Communist Party of China, CPC) that attempt to
regulate the internet in Mainland China. It is the main
instrument to achieve Internet censorship in China.
These CPC regulations include criminalizing certain
online speech and activities, blocking from view
selected websites, and filtering key words out of
searches initiated from computers located in Mainland
China. What very appropriate term X?
The Great Firewall of China

land in Ireland when poor harvests struck. The
lord whose lands he was managing offered to
reduce the rents of his tenants, but the offer was
unsatisfactory. The tenants then refused to have
anything to do with Captain _______. The lands
were left untended, shops would not sell to his

Q16.
X is an Austrian village in the municipality of Tarsdorf, in
the Innviertel region of western Upper Austria. The existence of
the village was documented for the first time in 1070, and
historical records show that some twenty years later,
the lord was Adalpertus de Fucingin. X is most famous for its
four traffic signs with its name on them, beside which tourists
stop to have their photograph taken, owing to the identical
spelling to the present participle and gerund of an English
word. The road signs were commonly stolen as souvenirs—the
only crime which has been reported in the village. In 2004,
owing mainly to the stolen signs, a vote was held on changing
the village's name, but the residents voted against doing so.
The local police chief hinted at stricter anti-theft measures,
saying “It may be very amusing for you British, but X is simply
X to us. What is this big X joke? It is puerile." Name the X
village.

Q17.Angle trisection is a classical problem of compass and
straightedge constructions of ancient Greek mathematics. It
concerns construction of an angle equal to one third of a
given arbitrary angle, using only two tools: an unmarked
straightedge, and a compass. The problem as stated is
generally impossible to solve, as shown by Pierre Wantzel in
1837. Wantzel's proof relies on ideas from the field of Galois
Theory — in particular, trisection of an angle corresponds to
the solution of a certain cubic equation, which is not possible
using the given tools. It is, however, possible to trisect an
arbitrary angle by using tools other than straightedge and
compass. Trisection, like many constructions impossible by
ruler and compass, can easily be accomplished by the more
powerful operations of X, a solution attributed to Hisashi
Abe. Huzita's axioms can construct cubic extensions (cube
roots) of given lengths, whereas ruler-and-compass can
construct only quadratic extensions (square roots). What age-

What’s in a Name
X is a word that comes from the Arabic term ‘ Al Zahr’
which means ‘the dice’. The term came to be associated
with dice during the Crusades and eventually took on a
negative connotation because games of dice were
associated with gambling. X is also the name of a
professional footballer. Give me X.
Q1.

Q2.
The use of the word X could be attributed to early beliefs
that changes in the moon triggered intermittent insanity
in people. Philosophers such as Aristotle and Pliny the
Elder argued that the full moon induced insane
individuals with bipolar disorder by providing light
during nights which would otherwise have been dark,
and affecting susceptible individuals through the well-
known route of sleep deprivation. What word?
Lunatic
Q3.
X is a sturdy cotton warp-faced textile in which
the weft passes under two or more warp threads.
This twill weaving produces a diagonal ribbing that
distinguishes it from cotton duck. Historically, X was
made in Nimes, France. It was therefore originally
referred by a French phrase that literally translates to
"fabric from Nimes". The word "serge” in the phrase soon
disappeared and left us with “X” which we continue to
use even today. Give me X.
Denims
Audience?
The word X actually originated in the United Kingdom as a
shortened portmanteau of the concerned association name
ie. "socca” . This turned into the word “X" that is still used in
the US, Canada, and Australia. Give me X.

  • 3. X was the man booker prize winner under the category of fiction in 2002. According to X, none of the emotions portrayed in his book was merely fiction but was based on the research he did on Simba, a wonky legged lion(a downside of too much inbreeding) who was a resident of the Trivandrum Zoo. In fact all the animals described in the book except the doomed Orang-utan can be found living in the Zoo. With one failed book behind him, X had spent 6 months in south India in 1996. In fact, even the central theme of the novel, where religion and zoology are intertwined in an intricate balance is said to be inspired by his stay in Kerala and especially his time in Thiruvananthapuram, which has a multitude of faiths to offer. Q2.X is a standard element of Indian, particularly Konkani, cuisine, derived from the Portuguese carne de vinha d'alhos(Literally meat, wine and garlic),a dish of meat (usually pork) marinated in wine and garlic. In its basic structure, it was the Portuguese sailor's 'preserved' raw ingredients, packed in wooden barrels of alternate layers of pork and garlic, and soaked in wine. This was 'Indianized' by the local Goan Christian cooks, by the substitution of palm vinegar for the red wine and the addition of dried 'red' chili peppers with additional spices to evolve into the local and easy to pronounce "X”. Nowadays, the Anglo-Indian version of X is marinated in vinegar, sugar, fresh ginger, and spices overnight, then cooked with the addition of further spices. What fiery-hot dish X?

It was briefly popular there in the late 1960s and early 1970s, its popularity spurred by growing awareness of foreign cultures, by the minimalism of the Mod lifestyle and, in particular, by the Beatles and subsequently the Monkees. • 156. Q6. The X was a small Indian copper coin. The coin was first introduced by Sher Shah Suri during his rule of India between 1540 and 1545, along with Mohur, the gold coin and Rupiya the silver coin. Later on, the Mughal Emperors standardised the coin along with other silver (Rupiya) and gold (Mohur) coins in order to consolidate the monetary system across India. Watch Your Language lists the coin as one of the possible sources for the English phrase Y (which appends an ‘n’ to X), due to its small worth when contrasted with the sterling, but provides other sources as well. Y, ironically, has nothing to do with Hell and punishment. A famous line containing Y is responsible for making the usage of religious slander (like ‘hell’) acceptable to use in film dialogues. Upon learning of the sin of desertion, punishable by death, X spared their lives and offered the temple as a future place to stay, but turned them into kabbas as punishment. • 182. Q2. L'Inconnue de la Seine or "The Unknown Woman of the Seine" was an unidentified young woman whose putative death mask became a popular fixture on the walls of artists' homes after 1900. Her visage inspired numerous literary works. In the United States, the mask is also known as "La Belle Italienne". In the following years, numerous copies were produced. The copies quickly became a fashionable morbid fixture in Parisian Bohemian society. Albert Camus and others compared her enigmatic smile to that of the Mona Lisa, inviting numerous speculations as to what clues the eerily happy expression in her face could offer about her life, her death. And her place in the society. Critic Al Alvarez wrote in his book on suicide, The Savage God: "I am told that a whole generation of German girls modelled their looks on her." Besides all this, this face has often been referred to as ‘the most kissed face of all time’. Why? Image follows.

X is a psychological phenomenon described in 1973 in which hostages express empathy and sympathy and have positive feelings toward their captors, sometimes to the point of defending and identifying with the captors. X takes its roots from the Norrmalmstorg robbery during which, several bank employees were held hostage in a bank vault from August 23 to 28, 1973, while their captors negotiated with police. • 223. Q16. X is an Austrian village in the municipality of Tarsdorf, in the Innviertel region of western Upper Austria. The existence of the village was documented for the first time in 1070, and historical records show that some twenty years later, the lord was Adalpertus de Fucingin. X is most famous for its four traffic signs with its name on them, beside which tourists stop to have their photograph taken, owing to the identical spelling to the present participle and gerund of an English word. The road signs were commonly stolen as souvenirs—the only crime which has been reported in the village. In 2004, owing mainly to the stolen signs, a vote was held on changing the village's name, but the residents voted against doing so. The local police chief hinted at stricter anti-theft measures, saying “It may be very amusing for you British, but X is simply X to us. What is this big X joke? It is puerile." Name the X village.

  • 226. Q17.Angle trisection is a classical problem of compass and straightedge constructions of ancient Greek mathematics. It concerns construction of an angle equal to one third of a given arbitrary angle, using only two tools: an unmarked straightedge, and a compass. The problem as stated is generally impossible to solve, as shown by Pierre Wantzel in 1837. Wantzel's proof relies on ideas from the field of Galois Theory — in particular, trisection of an angle corresponds to the solution of a certain cubic equation, which is not possible using the given tools. It is, however, possible to trisect an arbitrary angle by using tools other than straightedge and compass. Trisection, like many constructions impossible by ruler and compass, can easily be accomplished by the more powerful operations of X, a solution attributed to Hisashi Abe. Huzita's axioms can construct cubic extensions (cube roots) of given lengths, whereas ruler-and-compass can construct only quadratic extensions (square roots). What age-
