Concrete mixers are devices that uniformly mix the ingredients of concrete to form fresh concrete. There are four main types of concrete mixers: twin shaft mixers, which provide high intensity mixing for small batches; vertical axis mixers, commonly used for colored concrete and small batches; drum mixers, used for large volumes and production speed; and in-transit mixers, which mix concrete during transport to maintain its liquid state until delivery. Concrete mixers consist mainly of a drum to hold and mix the materials, rollers and a motor to turn the drum, internal blades to mix and discharge the concrete homogenously, and a gearbox to control the drum's rotational speed.
