INTRODUCTION
❖ Creativity is a complex and dynamic Psychological Phenomenon that has fascinated scholars and
researchers for centuries
❖ In the field of psychology creativity is understood as the cognitive and emotional processes that
underline the generation of novel and valuable ideas, products and solutions it involves the ability to
think flexibly make connections between disparate concepts and navigate uncertainty with ease
CONCEPT OF CREATIVITY
• Creativity is one of the most highly valued human qualities, creative acts determine the
scientific progress those nations which learn best how to identify develop and
encourage creativity in their people may find themselves in a very advantageous
position in the light of this every teacher must have knowledge of creative children
MEANING OF CREATIVITY
• The word term creativity has its origin from the latin word ‘Creare’ which means to
create , generally creativity means seeing or expressing new relationship among things
or ideas every child is creative to some extent in this sense of the term. The amount of
creativity and its dimensions vary from individual to individual creative children are
assets to the society
DEFINITIONS OF CREATIVITY
o ACCORDING TO SKINNER : Creative thinking means that production and inference for
the individual are new original and unusual
o ACCORDING TO GUILFORD : Creativity is a process by which something new is produced an idea
or an object it should be solution to some problem
CHARACTERISTICS OF CREATIVE CHILD
I. The creative child shows strong convictions in his beliefs and values. He can go
beyond socially conformist behaviour .
II. The creative child is curious to know more and more about his environment
III. He can take independent judgement in crucial matters
IV. Creative child always seems to be full of new ideas pertaining to most subjects

ROLE OF TEACHERS IN FOSTERING CREATIVITY
• The teacher should try to establish a classroom atmosphere where the students feel
free to ask questions and to develop new ideas
• Teacher should respect unusual question divergent production
• Teacher should try to remove stumbling blocks from the path of creative students. If
they need more help in the form of books , money, Instruments , paints etc, . They
should be provided help in these aspects
• The teacher has to develop skills of constructive criticism in his pupils .
EDUCATIONAL IMPLICATIONS OF CREATIVITY
Creativity is a subject with wide variety of implications for educational practices. In terms
of educational implications of creativity there are two major points to form the board
context for our examination
1. The first is that education can do something about nurturing creativity the amazing
record of inventions scientific discoveries and other creative achievements amassed
through deliberate methods of creative problem screativity reasolving should
convince even the most stubborn skeptic .
2. The second point is that the educational context is an appropriate one,within which
to focus creativity research for all environmental influences on development of
creativity .
CONCLUSION
In psychology ,creativity is understood as a multifaced and dynamic cognitive process
that involves the generation of novel and valuable ideas or solutions research highlights
that creativity is influenced by the combination of individual traits such as divergent
thinking and intrinsic motivation ,as well as contextual factors like social environment
and cultural background
