Mobile network operators face challenges balancing network capacity growth and revenue growth. Most network operators have deployed media/content optimization as a blunt instrument for cost containment rather than an intelligent approach that improves customer experience and allows for service personalization based on real-time business rules. Intelligent media optimization that supports a variety of stakeholders through flexible evolution can provide network operators a better path forward by both reducing investment costs and raising revenues.
This document analyzes drivers of customer churn in the wireless telecom industry. It finds that network message advertising is more effective at reducing churn than non-network messages. Higher competitive advertising from companies like Beta Corp increases Alpha Mobility's churn. The analysis models churn based on media variables and finds an optimized media mix and execution level that could reduce Alpha's churn by 0.4 basis points. Key insights include network messages being more effective at reducing churn, some markets being more impacted by media than others, and non-network executions having a stronger unfavorable impact on churn than network executions.

Corebanking transformation – a wining formulaSupratik Nag
This document discusses the key considerations for a successful core banking system implementation. It begins by outlining common challenges faced by banks during implementation projects. It then covers each phase of the implementation process from product selection and requirement gathering to testing, training, go-live, and post-go live support. For each phase, it provides guidance on best practices such as selecting a product that fits the bank's long-term needs, taking a phased migration approach, and establishing robust testing and support plans. The overall message is that banks must plan thoroughly across all phases of implementation and consider stakeholder buy-in, change management, and post-go-live operations to achieve a smooth transition to a new core banking system.
The ability to use voice, mobile apps, SMS, email, websites, chat, video, and social media through a single device is forcing operators to rethink their mobile strategies in the form of offload. With the increased data usage, operator networks become increasingly congested. As such, a smart and dynamic connected interaction is necessary to allow better traffic management with particular capabilities of the device with which it is characterized.
In this paper, we will examine how dynamic data offloading with 3GPP based Access Network Discovery Selection Function (ANDSF) plays its role in the implementation of selective offloading. ANDSF as specified in 3GPP standards describes how the inter-system mobility between 3GPP systems and non-3GPP systems (WLAN, WiMAX, CDMA) policies and priorities can control the conditions for which a device connects to which wireless network. As mobility is becoming a mainstream for customer engagement, operators must ensure contextual continuity is preserved through an integrated approach.
This document analyzes customer perceptions of Reliance Net Connect devices in Visakhapatnam. It finds that while Reliance was initially the leader, Tata Photon+ has now gained market share. Customers cite speed as the primary purchase factor but many are dissatisfied with speeds. The document recommends that Reliance focus on rural areas, highlight utility value for new and existing customers, lower prices through economies of scale, and differentiate products to remain competitive against growing 3G options.
Is There a Bubble in the Chinese Asset Market?neerajjain09
The document discusses whether there is a bubble in the Chinese asset market by comparing China's economic growth and development to Japan's experience prior to its financial crisis in the 1990s. It notes that both countries experienced rapid growth and loose monetary policy that led to a surge in asset prices. However, China's growth has been steadier and driven more by domestic demand rather than speculation. In the short term, continued growth is expected to absorb price increases, but over the longer term, there are signs a real estate bubble may be forming if current trends continue without adjustments.

Mobile network operators face challenges balancing network capacity growth and revenue growth. Intelligent media optimization that adapts based on real-time business rules and policies can help improve network efficiency, customer experience, and create new revenue opportunities. However, most operators currently use optimization primarily as a blunt tool for cost containment rather than unlocking its full value. An intelligent approach involving multiple stakeholders and real-time optimization based on network conditions, user profiles, and policies can optimize the customer experience and personalization to further business goals beyond basic traffic reduction.

Why not let apm do all the heavy lifting beyond the basics of monitoring | Sw...Swatantra Kumar
In a short period, the complexity of technology increased exponentially. The number of frameworks that appear “overnight”, together with new architectural patterns and distributed teams, can pose several challenges. Keeping such a complex landscape in check requires constant monitoring.
Choosing the right monitoring solution, not only for the project but also for the team dynamics, will help to identify the possible areas of improvement. Furthermore, embedding a monitoring solution within the development cycle of a product will help to reduce the number of problems that can appear in each step, and might also help shorten the amount of time generally needed in identifying the area of service disruption.

How to manage and reduce network Capex and Opex while maintaining profitabil...Subex
Communication service providers are facing increasing competition and spending large amounts on network infrastructure upgrades. However, 20% of network assets fail to earn back their cost and 5-15% are underutilized. This is due to a lack of visibility into existing assets and inefficient asset management. The Asset Management project aims to help operators optimize network spending through standards and guidelines for tracking assets throughout their lifecycle to reduce costs and improve profits.
Network visibility allows mobile operators to see how their entire network is functioning and how it is being used by subscribers. This gives operators the ability to better understand network performance issues, plan network improvements, and develop new revenue-generating services. Achieving true network visibility requires open systems that can collect and analyze large amounts of network and subscriber usage data with minimal data loss. This data will help operators address challenges like increasing speeds, growing network capacity demands, and preparing for new technologies while also creating customized service plans to increase revenues and reduce subscriber churn.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
