2. Computer Aided Design (CAD) is
the use of computer technology and
advancement for the process of
design development and collection
development.
Introduction to
CAD
3. Design Process
Design process is a way of figuring
out what you need to do, then doing
it. Along the way you might solve
one or more problems, try to
achieve a goal, and/or create
something specific. The first critical
step to understanding the design
process is that it's not about
working the “right way” or “wrong
way”.
4. General Process of Design
1. Recognition of Need: Solution to a problem or situation
2. Problem Definition: To Determine what features is needed
3. Synthesis: Research and preliminary ideas are given
4. Analysis and Optimisation: Identifying opportunities
5. Evaluation: Improvement
6. Presentation
7. Chapter 1: Introduction to
image editing -
Tools in detail, enhancing images,
masking, transforms, working with
layers, text effects. Creating an
advertising brochure, gradient’s
use for rendering and 3D effects,
applying filters.
8. GETTING TO
KNOW THE
WORK AREA
1. Starting to work in Adobe Photoshop
2. Using the tools
3. Sampling a color
4. Working with tools and tool properties
5. Undoing actions in Photoshop
6. More about panels and panel locations
9. Lesson overview
In this lesson, you’ll learn how to do the following:
1. Open image files in Adobe Photoshop.
2. Select and use tools in the Tools panel.
3. Set options for a selected tool using the options bar.
4. Use various methods to zoom in to and out from an image.
5. Select, rearrange, and use panels.
6. Choose commands in panel and context menus.
7. Open and use a panel in the panel dock.
8. Undo actions to correct mistakes or to make different choices.
10. Starting to work in Adobe Photoshop
The Adobe Photoshop work area includes menus, toolbars, and
panels that give you quick access to a variety of tools and options for
editing and adding elements to your image. You can also add
commands and filters to the menus by installing third-party software
known as plug-ins.
In Photoshop, you primarily work with bitmapped digital images
(continuous-tone images that have been converted into a series of
small squares, or picture elements, called pixels). You can also work
with vector graphics, which are drawings made of smooth lines that
retain their crispness when scaled. You can create original artwork in
Photoshop, or you can import images from many sources, such as:
1. Photographs from a digital camera or mobile phone
2. Stock photography, such as images from the Adobe Stock
service
3. Scans of photographs, transparencies, negatives, graphics, or
other documents
4. Captured video images
5. Artwork created in drawing programs

12. Project Deliverables:
1. Creating an advertising brochure for a
chosen topic related to Fashion Industry.
2. Image samples for Image Retouching
