1. CHARACTERISTICS OF ALUMINUM-TEFLON-RUBBER SANDWICH COMPOSITE PANEL
COMPOSITE SANDWICH PANEL
Sandwich panels (sometimes-referred to as composite panels) of two layers of a rigid material bonded to either side of a lightweight core.
The three components act together as a composite; that is, the combination of the characteristics of the components results in better
performance than would be possible if they were acting alone. The lightweight core keeps the two faces in the correct position, resists shear
forces, and provides insulation, while the two faces provide durability , weather and impact resistance.

IMPACTOR WE USED
An impact test measures how much energy is absorbed when an object fractures or
breaks under a high speed collision and it is done by impactor.
Two types of impactor were used in this experiment. They are –
1. Ogive impactor
2. Conical impactor.

After evaluating the mass and density properties of all the samples we can select sample 4 for our ogive impactor test. Because the mass of
this sample is lower than the Sample 5 and the difference between the penetration depth of sample 5 and sample 4 is very low. For the
conical impactor test Sample 3 is the best choice to use as a bullet proof and impact resistive material. After analyzing the average
penetration depth for both ogive and conical impactor, Sample 3 is the suitable choice for both the conical and ogive impactor.
