#CCC (Clean Cloth Campaign)
The Clean Clothes Campaign is a global organization working towards improving working conditions and empowering
workers in the fashion industry. The organization- the largest alliance of its kind in the industry – believes all people working in
the fashion industry should be able to defend and improve their rights.
It is founded on the following principles:
 A right to good and safe working conditions
 Workers have a right to know about their rights
 The public has a right to know where and how their garments and sports shoes are produced.
 Workers themselves can and should take the lead in their own organizing and empowerment.
 Workers can best assess their needs and the risks they take when asserting their rights.
 The public can and should take action to see that workers’ rights are respected.
 Gender issues underlying or facilitating rights violations must be addressed.
 National governments and international authorities have an obligation to implement legislation and sanction
any failure to do so.
 Brand name garment companies and retailers must use their position of power to ensure good labor standards
are met.
 Brand name garment companies and retailers should adopt a code of labor practice
 Brand name garment companies and retailers should actively pursue social dialogue with trade union
organizations,
 Companies must be transparent
 Trade unions and NGOs should cooperate nationally, regionally and globally to improve
 Conditions in the garment and sports shoe industries and facilitate worker empowerment,

#OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management System)
The OHSAS 18001 Certification Scheme is an occupational health and safety standard designed to enable
organizations to control risks and improve performance in the area of OH&S. OHSAS 18001 places a
proactive and preventative emphasis on risk-control factors by identifying and assessing the likelihood and
severity of hazards in the workplace.
 Save money - by reducing the direct and indirect costs from accidents, disease
and other factors.
 Boost productivity - through the reduction of downtime caused by sickness or
injury to your workers.
 Minimize risk - to the human resources of your organization across all the work
environments in your business.
 Gain a competitive edge - by demonstrating the OH&S compliance of your
organization to all stakeholders with a trusted third-party certification partner.
 Improve transparency - with a clearer understanding of the safety processes in
your organization.

##Store Management
Topic review
• What is store
• What do we mean by store management
• Objective of store management
• Function of store management
• Classification of store
Mehedi Hasan Sumon
#What is store?
Store is an important component of material management since it is a place that keeps the materials in a way by which
the materials are well accounted for are maintained safe and are available at the time of requirement.
#What do we means store management
Store management is “to receive materials, to protect them while in storage from damage & unauthorized removal, to issue the
material in the right quantities, at the right time to the right place and to provide these service promptly and ay least cost.”
Main process of a store
Mehedi Hasan Sumon
#Objectives of store management:
Following are the main objectives of an efficient system of storekeeping:
1. To ensure uninterrupted supply of materials and stores
without delay to various production and service departments of
the organization.
2. To prevent overstocking and understocking of materials,
3. To protect materials from pilferage, theft fire and other risks.
4. To minimize the storage costs.
5. To ensure proper and continuous control over materials.
1.Receipt
2.Storage
3.Retrival
4.ISSUE
5.Records
6.Housekeeping
7.Control
8.Surplus management
9.Verification & packaging
10.Interaction &coordination
#Function of store management
Mehedi Hasan Sumon
#Classification of store
1)Functional stores: depending on the use to which the material is put –chemical, tools, raw materials
stores, etc.
E.g: Raw material store, Production Store, General Store, Tools Store, Salvage Store, Packing Store, Spa
restore, Receipt Store, Quarantine Store, Finished Goods Store
Stores fall into broadly two categories contingent on the following considerations:
2)Physical stores: depending on its size and location – central stores, sub stores, sites stores, etc.
Eg: Central Store, Sub-store, Departmental Store, Group Store, Site Store, Transit Store, And so on.
Mehedi Hasan Sumon
1)Centralized: Centralized storage means a single store for the whole organization.
Advantage: Centralized storekeeping ensures better layout and control of stores, economical use of storage space, lesser
staff, saving in storage costs and appointment of experts for handling storage problems. It further ensures continuous stock
checking.
Drawbacks: It leads to higher cost of materials handling, delay in issue of materials to respective departments, exposure of
materials to risks of fire and accident losses are practical difficulties in managing big stores.
Stores may be centralized or decentralized.
Mehedi Hasan Sumon
2)Decentralized: Decentralized storage means independent small stores attached to various departments.
Advantage: Decentralized stores involve lesser costs and time in moving bulky materials to distant departments
and are helpful in avoiding overcrowding in central store.
Disadvantage: uniformity in storage policy of goods cannot be achieved under decentralized storekeeping,
more staff is needed and experts may not be appointed.

It further ensures continuous stock checking. Drawbacks: It leads to higher cost of materials handling, delay in issue of materials to respective departments, exposure of materials to risks of fire and accident losses are practical difficulties in managing big stores.
