This document compares the tensile strength of various materials including metals, ceramics, semiconductors, polymers, composites, and fibers. It shows that the tensile strength can vary widely between different material classes, from around 10 MPa for polymers up to 3000 MPa for high-strength alloys and 5000 MPa for ceramics and fibers. The table provides data on tensile strength for numerous specific materials to illustrate the range within each class.
