North Beauregard Street at North Chambliss Street Spot Improvement project was substantially completed on October 10, 2021. The scope of this project was the construction of pedestrian access spot improvement at the intersection of North Beauregard Street and North Chambliss Street. The improvement consists of modifying the existing island at North Beauregard Street to reduce the pedestrian crossing distance and install pedestrian flashing beacon. The project also includes the Landmark’s shopping Plaza access improvements.

This presentation will provide an overview of the current practices in makerspaces in three categories: academic libraries, school libraries, and local membership-based makerspaces. Mediated vs. open service model, various programming and marketing approaches, and the space and staffing considerations will be discussed with pros and cons to provide a solid starting point for creating a makerspace. We will also share some findings from experimenting with 3D printing devices and equipment at University of Maryland, Baltimore.
