1) The Romanian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports launched a project called "The Network of (IMI) Competent Authorities for Professional Qualifications in Romania (IMI PQ NET Romania)" to support the development of the Internal Market Information system and reinforce social partners' capacity to participate. 2) The project will create a national network of competent authorities for professional qualifications recognition to facilitate administrative cooperation between Romanian authorities and those in other EU member states through the IMI platform. 3) Over three years, the project aims to train 420 network members from social partners, civil groups, sectors and associations to apply project methodologies and use the IMI application.

COMMUNIQUÉ
The Romanian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, as a Legislative area IMI
Coordinator, has launched the European Social Fund co-financed strategic project “The
Network of (IMI) Competent Authorities for Professional Qualifications in
Romania (IMI PQ NET Romania)”, as co-funded within the Sectoral Operational
Programme Human Resources Development 2007-2013.
This project supports the European Commission’s initiative on the development of IMI
by carrying out support activities in this regard at the national level. These are aimed at
reinforcing the social partners’ capacities (governmental agencies, NGOs and
professional associations) to actively participate in the exchange of information by
means of this computerized information system.
The project has been launched on 1 November 2010 and will be implemented over a
period of three years, in partnership with the Executive Unit of the National
Qualifications and Adult Training Council and the Institute for Social Policies.
The project will create a national network of competent authorities in the field of
professional qualifications recognition. The network will facilitate the administrative
cooperation between the competent authorities in Romania which take part in the
project and the competent authorities in other Member States by means of the IMI
computer-based platform.
The target group consists of 420 members of the network representing social partners,
civil society organizations, sectorial committees and professional associations, who will
take part in meetings, trainings, conferences, workshops, as well as in the drawing up of
comparative studies. All the members will be trained to apply the methodologies
developed in the project, as well as to use the IMI application as active users.
The project also purports to create adequate working tools, to set up communication
and mutual consultation channels, to audit the legal and procedural norms of the

2. competent authorities, to develop proposals aiming at standardization jointly with the
competent authorities, to grant assistance and consultancy to the members of the
national network.
It is a great honour for us to invite you to support the implementation of the

IMI users from other EU Member States to the events and trainings to occur throughout
the project, to the organization of study visits and of focus groups, in Brussels and in
other cities in the EU Member States.
