In a recent webinar, Magnetic and comScore presented new data on search activity to provide marketers with a better understanding of search data and the true power of intent. View the full presentation to learn how search data from beyond the search engine is becoming a valuable asset for search and display campaigns.
Key points covered in the webinar include:
- State of search activity across core search and non-search engines
- Value of non-search engines & their role in the consumer funnel
- Data opportunities afforded by retargeting
- Differentiation by vertical across non-search engines
This document discusses the future of search retargeting. It provides an overview of Magnetic, a company that powers search retargeting campaigns. The agenda outlines trends in search and display advertising, the changing role of search engines, and what search retargeting is and best practices for it. Data from comScore is presented showing continued growth in searches and search intensity in the US, with some search activity moving to non-search engines. US online ad spending is also projected to grow substantially through 2015.
This report summarizes an SEO competitive analysis conducted by SEO, LLC on April 24, 2012. It analyzed rankings for 4 keywords and 1 URL on Google and Bing. The analysis found 1 listing in the first position, 2 in the top 5 positions, and 2 in the top 10 positions. It provided details on the number of top 500 listings by keyword and search engine. It also listed the keywords, URLs, and search engines that were checked, along with the highest ranking positions found for each.
A summary of my thinking on this topic, unfortunately, also the last ones. Defined the inevitable trade-off between the reliability and throughput, suggested adaptation across the protocol stack etc.
A quick presentation to non-technical audience how technology is affecting our lives, pointing out that the technology impacts can no longer be ignored.

Learn BEM fundamentals as fast as possible. What is BEM (Block, element, modifier), BEM syntax, how it works with a real example, etc.
The document discusses how personalization and dynamic content are becoming increasingly important on websites. It notes that 52% of marketers see content personalization as critical and 75% of consumers like it when brands personalize their content. However, personalization can create issues for search engine optimization as dynamic URLs and content are more difficult for search engines to index than static pages. The document provides tips for SEOs to help address these personalization and SEO challenges, such as using static URLs when possible and submitting accurate sitemaps.

This 3 sentence summary provides an overview of the NetSolutions SEO report:
The report analyzes the search engine rankings and visibility of an industrial work gear company's website and competitors over time for 23 keywords across Google, Yahoo, and Bing. It finds that the company's site had 1 listing in the top 30 positions for "butcher aprons" in Google, but no listings in the top 10 positions and most rankings dropped or were new. The top competitors by rankings were aramar-uniform.com, automotiveworkwear.com, and bestbuyuniforms.com.
The document discusses search engine optimization (SEO). SEO is the process of improving web pages to rank higher in search engines for targeted keywords. Key factors that influence rankings include crawlability, optimized code, internal link structure, link popularity/relevance, and content relevance. Organic or natural search results receive the majority (around 60%) of clicks from users. SEO is also the most popular form of search marketing. Reasons to conduct SEO include high ROI, users trusting natural results more, and many people not looking past the first page of results.
The document discusses the future of search and search engine optimization (SEO). It contains the following key points:
1. The future of search may involve less direct searching and more interaction through communities and social sites, potentially replacing search engines. Success relies on a brand's ability to consistently provide value.
2. Search engines will continue to evolve to provide the best broad mechanism for answering questions globally. Key aspects will include improved relevance, content types, structured data, mobile capabilities, and user data capture and targeting.
3. Visitor behavior data and metrics like clickthrough and retention will increasingly drive search engine rankings, making on-site and off-site optimization necessary but focus on user experience critical.

Essentials of Automations: Exploring Attributes & Automation ParametersSafe Software
Â
Building automations in FME Flow can save time, money, and help businesses scale by eliminating data silos and providing data to stakeholders in real-time. One essential component to orchestrating complex automations is the use of attributes & automation parameters (both formerly known as “keys”). In fact, it’s unlikely you’ll ever build an Automation without using these components, but what exactly are they?
Attributes & automation parameters enable the automation author to pass data values from one automation component to the next. During this webinar, our FME Flow Specialists will cover leveraging the three types of these output attributes & parameters in FME Flow: Event, Custom, and Automation. As a bonus, they’ll also be making use of the Split-Merge Block functionality.
You’ll leave this webinar with a better understanding of how to maximize the potential of automations by making use of attributes & automation parameters, with the ultimate goal of setting your enterprise integration workflows up on autopilot.

In this session, we'll share insights on how we used PostgreSQL to facilitate precise searches across multiple fields in our mobile application. The techniques include using LIKE and ILIKE operators and integrating a trigram-based search to handle potential misspellings, thereby increasing the search accuracy.
We'll also discuss how the azure_ai extension on PostgreSQL databases in Azure and Azure AI Services were utilized to create vectors from user input, a feature beneficial when users wish to find specific items based on text prompts. While our application's case study involves a drug search, the techniques and principles shared in this session can be adapted to improve search functionality in a wide range of applications. Join us to learn how PostgreSQL and Azure AI can be harnessed to enhance your application's search capability.

Conversational agents, or chatbots, are increasingly used to access all sorts of services using natural language. While open-domain chatbots - like ChatGPT - can converse on any topic, task-oriented chatbots - the focus of this paper - are designed for specific tasks, like booking a flight, obtaining customer support, or setting an appointment. Like any other software, task-oriented chatbots need to be properly tested, usually by defining and executing test scenarios (i.e., sequences of user-chatbot interactions). However, there is currently a lack of methods to quantify the completeness and strength of such test scenarios, which can lead to low-quality tests, and hence to buggy chatbots.
To fill this gap, we propose adapting mutation testing (MuT) for task-oriented chatbots. To this end, we introduce a set of mutation operators that emulate faults in chatbot designs, an architecture that enables MuT on chatbots built using heterogeneous technologies, and a practical realisation as an Eclipse plugin. Moreover, we evaluate the applicability, effectiveness and efficiency of our approach on open-source chatbots, with promising results.

How information systems are built or acquired puts information, which is what they should be about, in a secondary place. Our language adapted accordingly, and we no longer talk about information systems but applications. Applications evolved in a way to break data into diverse fragments, tightly coupled with applications and expensive to integrate. The result is technical debt, which is re-paid by taking even bigger "loans", resulting in an ever-increasing technical debt. Software engineering and procurement practices work in sync with market forces to maintain this trend. This talk demonstrates how natural this situation is. The question is: can something be done to reverse the trend?
