Introduction
• AI is a subfield Of Computer Science.
• Recent years have seen tremendous growth in AI
research which have in part, seeded, and
propelled the emergence of various cognitive
services.
• Cognitive Services wouldn’t have done anything
better had they were not coupled with bots.
Chatbots
• It is an AI software that can simulate
conversation with a user in natural language
through applications , websites, mobile apps or
through the telephones.
• ELIZA-First Chatbot-developed by Joseph
Weizenbaum
Chat Bots
Rule Based AI Based
Turing Test
• Developed By Alan Turing in 1950.
• Used to check whether a bot is human level
intelligent or not.
• Mitsuku-five-time winner of the Loebner Prize
Turing Test.
Intent,Entity And Utterance
• Intent: An intent represents the purpose of a
user's input.
• Entity: An entity represents a term or object that
is relevant to your intents and that provides a
specific context for an intent.
• Utterance: A Utterance is a branching
conversation flow that defines responses to the
defined intents and entities.
Can you please turn on the fan in
the bedroom.
Utterance : Can you please turn on the fan in the
bedroom.
Intent : Turn On the Fan
Entity: Bedroom=>Room Fan=>Appliance
Turn On=>Action
Cognitive Services
• It is the ability to simulate human thought
process in a computerized model.
• Also known as Online Cognitive Computing.
• A higher level of functional API
• Input: Raw unstructured data
• Output : Smart data
Cognitive
Computing
Platforms
IBM Watson
Microsoft
Azure
Cognitive
Services
Language Speech Vision Knowledge Search
Cognitive Service And Chatbots-An
Example
• kBOT=> Knowledge-enabled (kHealth)
Personalized ChatBot for Asthma
• Gives remainders for medications, tells the user
when to step out of the outdoors.
To Conclude with
Chatbots has evolved into smarter personal digital
assistants powered by a paradigmatic set of
behind-the-scene AI cognitive services equipped
with semantic, cognitive, and perceptual
Computing techniques, along with ML, deep
learning, and NLP that encompasses natural
Language understanding and natural language
generation to Provide better context for richer and
more natural interactions.
