9 Day Full Tour: $1,495 per person,
double occupancy, plus airfare
This program gives students and guests of the univerity the
opportunity to experience first-hand several of Poland’s most
important Holocaust-related sites, such as Warsaw Ghetto,
Kazimierz District & Auschwitz Birkenau.
Although the main focus of the trip is the Holocaust, participants
will also experience Poland as it is today, a place with a wealth of
cultural treasure and natural beauty. In addition to visiting
historically important places, uncover the Polish experience in
Warsaw, with an Old Town rebuild World War II and in Krawkow,
its medieval Old Market Square still prospering.
This program is open to graduate and undergraduate students
from Wayne State University, all other universities, and members
of the community.

Participants can earn credits (1-3)
to fulfill Wayne State University general
education, course and elective
requirements of most undergraduate
and graduate academic programs with
approval of their advisor. Participants
can elect to do an Honors Option or
audit the course. Financial aid may
be available.
Program Highlights:
• Take a walk through Warsaw’s
UNESCO-listed Old Town, beautifully
reconstructed after WWII.
• Explore the Jewish Heritage of Warsaw
with visits to the Warsaw Ghetto with its
interpretive trail and the Umschlagplatz,
where the Gestapo assembled the Jews to
be sent to Treblinka.
• Wander the largest remaining medival
town square in Europe, the Main Market
Square of Krakow, laid out in 1257 and
included on UNESCO’s first World
Heritage List.
• Discover Kazimierz, Krakow’s Jewish
District, including Schindler’s factory,
where he was able to save over a
thousand Jews from the camps.
• Visit the UNESCO Site of Auschwitz,
a ghastly reminder of the inhumanity
that humans are capable of.
