Frida Kahlo was born in Coyoacán, Mexico, on July 6, 1907, and became one of Mexico's most celebrated artists, particularly known for her self-portraits and personal themes in her work. After suffering from polio as a child and a severe accident later in life, she found solace in painting, often depicting her family and her personal struggles. Kahlo married fellow artist Diego Rivera in 1929 and lived much of her life in a house known as La Casa Azul, where she created vibrant works until her death.
