What does CoCubes do?
CoCubes helps companies “engage and hire
authenticated students from campus and colleges to
manage placements and increase both employment
and employability of their students”.They enable
companies to build a relationship with prospective
candidates through customised pages, post jobs and
assess candidates online, and make offers to the right
candidates. Colleges use CoCubes to showcase their
students, identify training needs for them, and create
awareness about the college brand in the recruiting
community. Individual students can follow companies,
take assessment tests, and apply to jobs.These layers
make CoCubes a comprehensive multi-stakeholder
single window for all recruitment-related needs.

How it all started
In 2006, Grover’s uncle—a
placement officer in a Punjab
college—narrated to him the
difficulty his college faced in
securing placement visits by
recruiters. A quick search on
Google showed that there are
more than 30,000 colleges in
India, most in the tier II and tier III
category, and not on the radar of
over-wooed recruiting companies.
CoCubes started as a platform
that would connect colleges and
companies to bridge this gap.
Challenges

introductions.
According to a report in The Economic Times, times are changing for tier II colleges in India. Long
considered second-class citizens trailing a handful of marquee institutions from the metros, small-town
colleges are now supplying talent to multinationals like Bombardier Transportation, Microsoft, and Emerson.
This will be music to the ears of Harpreet Grover and Vibhore Goyal, two IIT-Bombay alumni, whose
venture CoCubes.com is building bridges between tier II colleges and top recruiters across the country.
By using technology to reach the proverbial masses, and by making sure companies get access to 100%
‘authentic’ candidates pre-screened by their colleges, CoCubes has grown its revenues by a staggering
1,200% between 2008 and 2012 and sees one college join its platform every day on an average.Today, it
is one of the top 10 emerging companies of India according to NASSCOM, and a winner of the TiE-Lumis
Partners ‘Entrepreneurial Excellence Award’. Here, Grover tells us how their real innovation was connecting
all stakeholders on a single platform, as much as building a team that works harder than the founders.

CoCubes helps companies “engage and hire authenticated students from campus and colleges to manage placements and increase both employment and employability of their students”.They enable companies to build a relationship with prospective candidates through customised pages, post jobs and assess candidates online, and make offers to the right candidates. Colleges use CoCubes to showcase their students, identify training needs for them, and create awareness about the college brand in the recruiting community. Individual students can follow companies, take assessment tests, and apply to jobs.These layers make CoCubes a comprehensive multi-stakeholder single window for all recruitment-related needs. CoCubes is backed by Ojas Venture Partners. How it all started In 2006, Grover’s uncle—a placement officer in a Punjab college—narrated to him the difficulty his college faced in securing placement visits by recruiters. A quick search on Google showed that there are more than 30,000 colleges in India, most in the tier II and tier III category, and not on the radar of over-wooed recruiting companies. CoCubes started as a platform that would connect colleges and companies to bridge this gap. Challenges • Starting a category from scratch with no precedents to learn from. • Generating initial funding and building a team with a unique culture. • Building relationships with colleges and companies with no readymade introductions. According to a report in The Economic Times, times are changing for tier II colleges in India. Long considered second-class citizens trailing a handful of marquee institutions from the metros, small-town colleges are now supplying talent to multinationals like Bombardier Transportation, Microsoft, and Emerson. This will be music to the ears of Harpreet Grover and Vibhore Goyal, two IIT-Bombay alumni, whose venture CoCubes.com is building bridges between tier II colleges and top recruiters across the country. By using technology to reach the proverbial masses, and by making sure companies get access to 100% ‘authentic’ candidates pre-screened by their colleges, CoCubes has grown its revenues by a staggering 1,200% between 2008 and 2012 and sees one college join its platform every day on an average.Today, it is one of the top 10 emerging companies of India according to NASSCOM, and a winner of the TiE-Lumis Partners ‘Entrepreneurial Excellence Award’.
