This document describes a multidisciplinary school project done by the Athenians group on the topic of coal mining. The project included sub-projects in six subjects - English, Tamil, Math, Science, Social Science, and Hindi. Each subject's project focused on a different aspect of coal mining such as illustrations of Indian coal mines, a field visit report in Tamil, statistical graphs and tables on coal reserves, the environmental impacts of mining, the history of coal, and an essay on coal. The document expresses thanks to teachers, the school principal, and an NLC employee who helped guide the field trip portion of the project.

3. COAL MINING- MULTIDISCIPLINARY PROJECT
This is a multidisciplinary project done by members of
Athenians group. This project consists of projects based on
coal for six subjects (i.e.) English, Tamizh, Math, Science,
Social Science, Hindi. English project consist of colorful images
and illustrations to those images of coal mines in India. Tamizh
project consist of field visit report which was written in Tamizh
language. Math project consists of graphs like line graph,
frequency polygon, histogram and pie chart. It also consists of
2 frequency distribution table which denotes coal and lignite
reserves in India. Science project consists of environmental
impact of coal mining it also contains colorful pictures. Social
Science project consists of history of coal and history and
creation of NLC. Hindi project consists of an essay written on
the topic of coal.

4. I record my gratefulness to our school’s great pillar, our
principal Mrs. R.M. VALLIKANNU who took lot of efforts to make
our field trip successful.
I include my thanks to my class teacher Mr.MICHEAL
RAYAPPAN and Mrs. LEENA MENON who guided us during this
field trip.
Finally, I thank my all subject teachers who on the zenith of
glory for their versatile guidance, valuable suggestions and
strenuous effort in the course of this dissertation work. Without
whom this work couldn’t have seen the light of the day.
My special thanks to Mr. THIRUNAVUKARASU works in NLC
who took lot of effort and spent his valuable time with us during
this field trip.
