Jennifer Becker is a teacher at the University of Alabama who conducts research on defensive communication, friendship, and mediated interpersonal communication. She has authored or co-authored a dozen journal articles and four chapter books, and also performs consulting work. Her degree in communication studies helped her develop the knowledge and skills to analyze communication processes, express ideas effectively, and appreciate diverse practices. Jennifer values working in groups and developing leadership skills through her degree, which she believes are important for professional and civic responsibilities. She advises students to complete at least one internship during their studies.
