Database vs Data Warehouse: A Comparative ReviewHealth Catalyst
What are the differences between a database and a data warehouse? A database is any collection of data organized for storage, accessibility, and retrieval. A data warehouse is a type of database the integrates copies of transaction data from disparate source systems and provisions them for analytical use. The important distinction is that data warehouses are designed to handle analytics required for improving quality and costs in the new healthcare environment. A transactional database, like an EHR, doesn’t lend itself to analytics.

Abstract: Integrated Development Environments are at the neuralgic centre of developer activities. For many of us it’s unconceivable to work in complex developments leveraging multiple heterogeneous tools for design, build and test activities without the IDE connecting them all.
IDEs are powerful tools, capable of handling many types of tasks. In many cases, IDEs are perceived as a commodity but this is a naïve approach that ignores the many brilliant features that IDEs can be used for: debugging, code generation, test automation, version control, quality assurance, task & issue management, etc.
During this talk, participants will get an overview of what IDEs mean today, for the newbie, the enterprise and the hard-core developer, will get introduced to key IDE features that every one of us should be using, and will participate on an open discussion about what next-generation IDEs should look like.

Role of Cloud Computing in Healthcare Systemsijtsrd
The healthcare industry is complex because it is so vast in terms of the processes involved and the amount of private and sensitive information it needs to deal with. The industry’s complexity often leads to two major challenges - increased operational cost including data storage cost and difficulty in building a self sufficient health ecosystem. Technology has always been the savior that workaround for overcoming major healthcare industry challenges. One such technology is cloud computing. It has been in use in the healthcare industry for several years and continuously evolving with industry changes. Cloud computing is transforming the healthcare industry at different levels with features like collaboration, scalability, reach ability, efficiency, and security. The on demand computing feature of the cloud adds value, especially when healthcare institutes and care providers need to deploy, access and handle network information at the drop of a hat. With the rise in demand for data based security, there needs to be a shift in the creation, usage, better storage, collaboration, and sharing of healthcare data techniques. It is where cloud computing leaves no stone unturned Healthcare is one such sector that has been at the forefront of adopting cloud technology. Healthcare providers are coming to realize the true potential of cloud solutions across the globe.According to the BBC research report, estimated global spending by stakeholders in the industry on cloud computing is expected to be around 35 billion dollars by 2022. It is anticipated that the CAGR of cloud services and solutions will maintain a trajectory of 15 rise and the size of the Cloud powered healthcare market is to be around 55 billion dollars by the year 2025. Resource Monitoring Algorithms Evaluation For Cloud EnvironmentCSCJournals
Cloud computing is a type of distributed computing allowing to share many resources such as CPU, memory, storage ...etc. The status of these resources changes from time to time due to the dynamic adaptive ability of the cloud computing characteristics. Hence, the powerful and scalable monitoring algorithm is needed to monitor the status of these resources throughout the time. There are many models have been proposed for monitoring the distributed systems resources; the push-based, the pull-based, and the push/pull model. Most of the common monitoring systems are based on these models (e.g., Ganglia which based on push model and Nagios, which based on pull model). According to the work in this paper, a comparative study has been done to implement and evaluate these three models on the cloud environment. The implementation results showed that the push-based model outperforms the other two models due to its high scalability, stability, and efficiency.

Complex Event Processing
• The Complex Event Processing (CEP) engine allows sophisticated rule
based handling of multiple events. An exciting new
technology, Complex Event Processing handles many events
happening across all the layers of an organization, identifying the
most meaningful events within the event cloud, analyzing their
impact, and taking subsequent action in real time.
• CEP removes the need to continuously reference the source systems.
Without CEP, workflows can breakdown and systems can
hinder, rather than enhance productivity.
• Complex Event Processing technology allows numerous events to be
evaluated and outcomes to be derived non-deterministically.

Adaptable Workflow Engine
• A scriptable workflow engine provides asynchronous real-time
orchestration between multiple events based on a set of predefined
business rules. While data is being routed through the system, it is
also analyzed according to it’s content and context.
• The workflow engine has the ability to make decisions and take
actions based on scripted rules. Synchronicity can provide users with
relevant feedback in real-time, which is crucial in settings where care
givers must make decisions quickly. For example, when a physician
orders a lab test, the system can ensure that the same test has not
been recently conducted through another system, thereby reducing
the duplication of healthcare costs.

Good morning Everyone. My name is Alf Tornatore and this Marc Goldman . It’s great to have the opportunity to speak with you this morning about Cloud9. We’d like to spend some time taking you through what we do.If you were unfortunate enough to be standing next to me in an elevator and ask what we do for a living, I’d tell you that Cloud9 has built a platform of interconnect technologies that supports the patient journey through the healthcare system which allows context to follow context. This concept of Content following Context is at the core of what we do and what we’re trying to achieve. Content following Context has driven the design of the platform. This may seem like a strange concept and it bears some explanation. We often hear about how healthcare lags behind other industries in terms of the uptake of technology. Everyone makes lots of excuses for this; systems are old, clinicians don’t want to change their processes. Take a simple example of getting your bank balance. Imagine if you logged you wanted to know your account balance. When you logged on, instead of being presented with a balance, your given pages and pages of transactions. Then its up to you to get your calculator out and add them all up. This might sound ridiculous but it’s exactly what clinicians need to deal with on a daily basis. They’re not even sure if every transaction is listed. The Cloud9 platform can rapidly sift through vast volumes of information and present it to the users so they can utilise the information to better manage their patients. This is what we mean by adding contextual value of the data to the clinician. So as a patient moves through the healthcare system, the content becomes richer and it can be made available to be consumed by the relevant care-giver in exactly the way they need it. As the patient moves from the GP, to the specialist, to the hospital then back home, The data may be contributed by a GP, a hospital emergency department, a community nurse in the home.
Clinicians treat systems like old fashioned paper diaries. They store personal information never expecting other people to read them. If they need to share, they’d re-write it as a new document.
