THE TECHNICAL SOLUTION

DOMAINS SYNCHRONISATIONS
To communicate each other both domains ( on–premises & Cloud ) need to be synchronised
An UPN ( User Principal Name ) suffix needs to be created on the On-premises Domain for each
existing users in order to have unique credential to access both environements.
The user account details are stored in Active Directory(AD) On–premises and on the Azure Active
Directory(AAD) on The Office 365 Tenant.
A replication is required from the Active Directory (AD ) to the Azure Active Directory (ADD) on the
Cloud.
All the user accounts in the organisation should be copied to the Cloud one .

SINGLE SIGN ON (SSO) CONFIGURATIONS
An Single Sign On(SSO) authentification process to synchronise the user accounts
with Azure Active Directory Connect Tool (ADD)
The Azure Active Directory tool can be used with 2 options :
Option 1 :
Free download from Microsoft and install on a On-premises dedicated server
Option 2 :
Use the function directly from the Azure Portal
Additional settings :
For single forest in an AD On-premises ,the tool ‘s express setting is advisable
For multiple forests in an AD On-premises, the tool ‘s costum setting is advisable
Once the synchronisation is done ,the accounts need to be activated on the O365 tenant

OFFICE 365 TENANT HYBRID CONFIGURATIONS
SharePoint 2016 Online :
Create SharePoint 2016 Online site to integrate services like SharePoint Search, Exchange , Lync,
Business Connectivity Services.
Video App:
The video can be loaded and managed on the O365 site and accessible on the SharePoint 2016
On-premises site
It reduces the work -load on the On-premises front-end servers
Makes it easy to view on On-premises and Cloud sites and mobiles devices too .
Delve App:
For advance search about people, documents and view on mobiles devices
(IOS & Android )
Activate O365 suscription for each user account synchronised

ONE DRIVE FOR BUSINESS HYBRID CONFIGURATION
OneDrive Versions :2 versions
OneDrive :a personal storage cloud services accessible with a Microsoft account
One Drive for Business : a storage service related to the organisations as part of O365 package .
OneDrive for Business Hybrid :
Possible redirection from On-premises OneDrive to the OneDrive for Business
Possible « Document following » from SharePoint On-premises to SharePoint Online in the O365
The documents stored in OneDrive for Business can be viewed on the mobile devices
(IOS ,Android).
The OneDrive Hybrid configuration is available on the O365 Admin console in the Hybrid settings

The following services have to be activated on SharePoint 2016 Farm side
for the Hybrid model:
Managed Metadata service application
User Profile Service application
My Sites
The « site following » Feature:
Enable the Hybrid « site following »
For redirection from On-premise SharePoint Site to the SharePoint Online site
For redirection from O365 site to SharePoint 2016 On- Premises sites

HYBRID SEARCH CONFIGURATIONS
The Hybrid search is the essentiel service which makes the bridge between On- Premises and Cloud
The Hybrid search is most used service accross organisations on daily basis
The Hybrid search can be scalled according to the data volume , the numbers of users and and security
policies of an organisation .
Hybrid Search configuration has 2 options :
Option 1 :
The federated search combines search results from each search index in a single search center
Option 2 :
The search crawls on-premises content and indexes it in the search index in Office 365.

DATA SECURITY FEATURES IN A CLOUD HYBRID MODEL
The sensitive data can be stored only on the SharePoint 2016 On-Premises
The sensitive data need not feature in the federal search
The sensitive data will not have the « document following » feature in sharePoint 2016
The sensitive data will be availlable only for target users
The sensitive data need not to be uploaded in the OneDrive for Business
