Cloud computing refers to scalable hardware and software resources that are made available to the public as a utility over the internet. Key concepts include regions and zones, storage, networking and security, monitoring, auto scaling, and load balancing. There are three main types of cloud services - Software as a Service (SaaS) which provides cloud-based applications, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) which provides virtualized computing resources and platforms, and Platform as a Service (PaaS) which provides development environments in the cloud. Major cloud providers make these services available to end users on a pay-as-you-go basis.
