The document discusses closing the gap between family and school through digital technologies and family participation. It proposes having grandparents visit classrooms to promote intergenerational interaction, exchange skills between generations, and strengthen family ties. When grandparents visited and helped rebuild classrooms, telling stories and doing workshops, it benefited students through greater motivation and understanding of life, and benefited families and teachers by bringing them closer together and allowing knowledge sharing. Parents reported that digital technologies opened a window into their children's daily classroom experiences.

Annabel Astbury: Music Makers And Dreamers Of Dreams: Making Change In Digital Education
http://youtu.be/uVi9ipoDW-Q
The great challenge of digital education is meeting the needs of students who have grown up in the digital era, and the expectations of teachers and parents who haven't. In this session Annabel Astbury will talk about her experience with building an 'education portal' for the ABC and share her thoughts, observations and aspirations for the days ahead.
The motto of TEI is to focus on English language training and create skilled as well as passionate individuals who will excel wherever they are in India or abroad- be it the universities they join, or the organisations they choose to work for in future.
This presentation explores the ways in which community can be involved in schools, using five levels of engagement to develop rich, ongoing partnerships in learning.
An overview of recent research into home-school relationships given at Futurelab's research insights day, April 29th 2010 in London.

Come and learn about GiggleIT! See how we have successfully implemented the GiggleIT Project, an initiative of IASL, with Year 5 and 6 students as part of our library program at William Clarke College. Involvement in this new, exciting, online project based on humour has given the students a reason to read, research, discover, discuss, write, reflect, communicate with others and publish their work. Working closely with class teachers provides opportunities to assess, evaluate and modify the program as necessary. The extensive use of technology and the strong international focus is appealing to all students. They can’t wait to get to library lessons!

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
The Art Pastor's Guide to Sabbath | Steve ThomasonSteve Thomason
What is the purpose of the Sabbath Law in the Torah. It is interesting to compare how the context of the law shifts from Exodus to Deuteronomy. Who gets to rest, and why?
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

20. What parents say about the use of ICT in the classroom:
It´s an open window to the daily life of our children. Is the
possibility of having a topic of conversation at the dinner table, a
fantastic opportunity to meet the precious little secrets that are
usually within the walls of the school. A fantastic initiative with
much merit!
It is a way of "ALMOST" being present in the classroom with our
children.
The use of ICT in the classroom has been a great source of
information about what is happening there and about the activities
have being developed. Through the photos we can see that they
are really happy to belong to the little stars classroom.
