A 42-year-old male patient presented with acute epigastric pain, fever, nausea, vomiting and abnormal vital signs. He had undergone a laparoscopic cholecystectomy 15 days prior. Diagnostic tests revealed acute pancreatitis. Pathophysiology of pancreatitis involves auto-digestion of the pancreas from accumulation of pancreatic enzymes and activation of trypsin. Nursing interventions included monitoring vital signs and labs, administering analgesics as prescribed, and providing patient education on diet, wound care, and medication compliance.
