The document classifies patients into four categories based on the level of care they require. Class I patients are self-care and ambulatory without help. Class II patients are ambulatory but may need some nursing assistance. Class III patients have disturbed consciousness or debilitating conditions and need complete care. Class IV patients have critical illnesses or restrictions that require full nursing care. Examples are provided for each classification.

2. Classification of Patient Care Class I – Self Care Patient The patient is ambulatory and can do activities o0f daily living without the help of a nursing personnel. Example: 1) Patient for executive check – up, 2)Patients for Gyne – OB clearance, 3) Ante – partal patients without complications

3. Class II – Partial Care Patient Patient is ambulatory but by reason of disability or therapeutic management, he may need assistance from a nursing personnel to do activities of daily living. Example: 1) Patient with intravenous infusion, 2) Post CS 3 & 4 th day, 3) Post fractional or diagnostic Dilatation and Curretage

Classification of Patient Care Class III – Complete Care Patient Patient who may have disturbance in the level of consciousness and / or debilitating conditions and may need complete care for the performance of activities of daily living. Example: 1) Post CS 1 st & 2 nd day, 2) Premature contractions, 3) Gyne patients on chemotherapy, 4) Post partum profuse bleeding

Classification of Patient Care Class IV – Critical Care Patient Patient who may or who may not have disturbance in the level of consciousness but may have restrictions in activities brought by diseases and may need complete care for the performance of the activities of daily living. Example: 1)Patient with Myocardial Infarction, 2) Post ICCU patient, 3) Any OB / Gyne with complications (Pre – eclamptic / Fetal distress)‏
