10. Founded on February 24th, 1941, we are a school that
belongs to the Society of Jesus, a religious order with more
than five hundred years of presence in the world.
Currently our educational works are present in more than
70 countries. In Mexico we are part of the Jesuit School
System with presence in five states of our country.
Our Ignatian education is characterized by being a
constant invitation to the transformation of people and the
world, through processes that invite the development of
freedom. The most appropriate pedagogy to bring the vision
and principles and values of Jesuit education to the
classroom is the Ignatian pedagogical paradigm, which
brings students closer to meaningful learning that they will
incorporate into their lives.
At the Lux Institute we intend and accompany the
development of each child, adolescent and young so that
they can become men and women at the service of others.

13. León is known as the “shoe capital of the world” and shopping for leather goods is one of
the main attractions here. León has a long history as a center of the leather industry,
offering shoes, boots, belts, jackets, and other leather accessories not only in Mexico, but
around the world. It has first-class services and hotels making it one of the most important
cities in Mexico along with León’s entertainment, restaurants, leisure activities, arts, and
recreation. It is also considered one of the most environmentally friendly cities in Mexico
and has a high number of cyclists, in part because of integrating a network of bike lanes
into the public transportation system. In March 2012 it received an award as “City Water
Champion”., due to great progress it has made in the areas of sanitation, wastewater reuse
and energy cogeneration from biogas.
