Application for the Post of Assistant Manager (Planning)
My name is Mohammad Harith b. Zakaria and I am applying for the Welder Inspector position
advertised in ‘The Star’ dated 1 January. I was drawn to it due to my immense interest in
quantity surveying. I have done some research on the internet about your company. Your
company`s background and reputation have encourage me to apply for the position.
I recently graduated from Ungku Omar Polytechnic, Ipoh undertaking a diploma programme
in Mechanical Engineering. I have taken a variety of course that provide me the skills and
knowledge to be successful in the mechanical field. Currently, I am working for a small
company in Taman Cempaka, as a Sales Associate where I assessing customer needs and
providing assistance and information on product features. Besides the experience in a variety
of computer programs such as Microsoft Office Word and CADCAM may be able me to deal
with clients and possess excellent people skills. I believe this range of skills would make me a
superior candidate for the above mentioned position.
I have strong motivation to learn new things. My excellent verbal and written skills enable me
to effectively communicate information to others. I have gained many new skills and
knowledge from polytechnic and my job that would make me a good candidate for the applied
position. I am confident that my ability to communicate effectively in both English and Malay
will an added advantage.
I believe my Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, along with my diverse skills, makes me a
strong candidate for the above-mentioned position and a face to face interview would allow me
to demonstrate my character in a more personal way. Although I have a little work experience,
I believe I could make an immediate and valuable contribution to your company. I look forward
