Introduction
The task we have been assigned to do is to produce a green space proposal which consists
of concept, master plan, planting plan, costing, construction detail and maintenance plan
based on a selected 10mx10m. We have chosen a space within block C and D above
Truffles restaurant.
Site Analysis
Fsff sf
This site gets the straight sunlight in afternoon onwards. In morning until 12pm the site is
covered by shade of upper levels which blocking sunlight. The wind blowing comes from
west in selected area. Walls in 3 sides surround the site and the other side is facing
lakeside.
Concept
The chosen area is to be designed a resting relaxation place for students and lecturers as
well. It can also be used for tutorial meetings. The area is built in an eco-friendly way to
make it more sustainable.

ii) Softscape
No. Scientific Name Nickname Characteristic
1 Chlorophytum comosum Spider Plant
It is native to
tropical countries.
Chlorophytum
comosum grows to about
60 centimetres (24 in) high.
It has fleshy, tuberous
roots, about 5–10
centimetres (2–4 in) long.
The long narrow leaves
reach a length of 20–45
centimetres (8–18 in) and
are around 6–25
millimetres (0.2–1.0 in)
wide
2 Tropical Hostas - It is native to tropical
countries. With the
characteristic of big leaves,
it could act as ground
shades.

3 Hymenocallis Spider Lily Most Hymenocallis must
be grown in a warm
greenhouse or in a
sheltered sunny spot
where the ground does not
freeze. The North
American species H.
occidentalis is found as far
north as southwestern
Indiana where winters can
reach 0 °F (−18 °C). They
like good drainage and
grow well in a soil rich with
organic matter. The
following species
and hybrids are found in
cultivation
4 Terminalia Mantaly -
Terminalia is a genus of
large trees of the flowering
plant family Combretaceae,
comprising around
100 species distributed
in tropical regions of the
world. This genus gets it
name from Latin terminus,
referring to the fact that the
leaves appear at the very
tips of the shoots.
5 Microstegium vimineum Japanese grass
It is native in much
of South Asia, East Asia as
well as parts of Southeast
Asia. It typically grows to
heights between 40 and
100 cm (1.3 and 3.3 ft) and
is capable of rooting at
each node. The plant
flowers in late summer and
produces its seeds in the
form of achenes shortly
thereafter. In addition to
herbicides, hand weeding
and mowing are among the
most successful methods
of removal.
