The document summarizes a study on pedestrian and boat mobility in Venice. The study collected pedestrian count data from 29 bridges over 6 weeks, totaling over 600,000 counts. It also analyzed video footage to classify pedestrians as Venetian or tourist. Boat schedule data was obtained from ACTV. An interactive computer model was developed using this data, treating pedestrians and boats as autonomous agents to simulate mobility throughout Venice and predict the impact of changes. The model can help city planners with evacuation planning and optimizing pedestrian flows. This was the first study to integrate pedestrian and boat mobility data into a single model of urban mobility for Venice.

This document outlines different models of video game production:
Big budget games have high production costs of $20-25 million but can have huge rewards if they sell millions of copies. Tent pole games are similarly high budget but are intended to fund the rest of a company's projects. The "Hollywood model" outsources parts of development to lower costs but can result in lower quality. Independent and indie games have much smaller budgets but allow for creative risks on niche titles. Mass collaboration and crowd-funding are emerging models that negotiate development costs by involving consumers early in the process.
Social media presents both opportunities and challenges for public agencies. The Port Authority of Allegheny County uses Twitter to provide information to customers, but found it difficult to maintain a constant presence during major events like Snowmageddon. While Twitter was useful, it also raised expectations that were hard to meet with limited staff. Maintaining social media requires dedicating staff time and resources, which can be difficult without additional hiring. The agency aims to provide value through Twitter while managing expectations about response capabilities.

This study analyzed the availability of bioenergy resources and potential for biogas generation from dairy manure in North Kolkata, India. A survey found over 9,000 buffaloes producing over 1,000 tons of manure daily on 164 dairy farms. The manure could generate over 4,000 cubic meters of biogas and 7,500 kWh of electricity per day, meeting the area's cooking energy demand of 52 GJ/day and electricity demand of 2,350 kWh/day with 375 kWh of excess electricity available for other uses. A large-scale anaerobic digester could utilize all available manure to meet local energy needs through biogas and grid-connected electricity while generating additional revenue.

Volleyball, born in 1895 through the inventive mind of William G. Morgan, originated as "Mintonette" within YMCA circles in Holyoke, Massachusetts, USA. Quickly evolving from its humble beginnings, it underwent a significant name change to "volleyball" as Alfred Halstead aptly captured its essence during an early exhibition. With standardized rules established, the sport spread rapidly, finding fertile ground within YMCA organizations and beyond. The formation of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) in 1947 marked a pivotal moment, ushering in a new era of international recognition and growth. Volleyball made its Olympic debut in 1964, captivating audiences worldwide with its fast-paced action and competitive spirit. Over the years, beach volleyball emerged as a popular variant, further diversifying the sport's appeal. Today, volleyball stands as a global phenomenon, celebrated for its athleticism, teamwork, and universal accessibility, embodying the enduring spirit of camaraderie and competition.

The Golden Group is over. Can a new group step up? Two years ago, Kevin De Bruyne plunged Belgium’s Euro 2024 plans into disorder when he claimed the team was “too old” to win in an interview with The Protector. That Belgian squad had 10 players over 30 and the maximum average age of any Euro Cup 2024 team at the competition. A group-stage exit and just one goal at the World Cup put Belgium on course for a restructure.

Coach Domenico Tedesco has managed a tactical shakeup and a regular exit for some of the oldest players. Experienced bests remain, not least the 37-year-old Jan Vertonghen in defense, the 32-year-old De Bruyne himself in midfield, and 31-year-old Romelu Lukaku up visible.
Still, younger actors like De Bruyne’s Manchester City partner Jeremy Doku bring fresh vitality to the team. Euro Cup Germany Qualifying unbeaten with just four goals allowed from eight games was a welcome sign of accomplishment back on track under Tedesco.
The only other squad in Group E besides Belgium to UEFA Euro 2024 qualify unbeaten, Romania was awestruck by winning a group that also checked Switzerland and Israel. Still, Euro 2024 will test a squad sorely lacking in top-level skill.
