ENTERPRISE RESOURCE PLANNING (ERP)
IN EDUCATIONAL INSITITUTIONS
Technology has entirely changed the way we live, towards the better. And education is one
such name where technology and the use of computers have changed the way it is delivered,
completely different from what it used to be in the last decade. Other than various new
learning techniques like online courses, smart classrooms; technology has equally simplied
the management of educational institutions. ERP implementation has been revolutionizing
institutional management for some time now, helping institutions to improve their
operations, thus making them manageable and more transparent.
What is ERP?
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
standardizes, streamlines, and integrates
business processes across nance, human
resources, procurement, distribution, and
other departments. Typically the software
operates on an integrated software platform
using common data denitions operating on
a single database.
ERP systems evolved rapidly during the 1990s they have provided as a cost-effective way to
replace multiple, old systems with a standardized package that could also address these
issues.
ERP in Educational Institution
An educational institution's most valuable assets are faculty, students and staff. Each has
distinctive interest within same organization.
For faculty, it is a place to teach, conduct research and write.
For students, it is a place to learn, live and entertain
For staff, it may share many features with corporate work including management structure,
hours, and HR practices.
ERP for educational institutes helps the management and admin team to manage education
related process like fees management, nance accounting, library management, grades
and exam management, admission management, etc. ERP software designed to ow the
information between, student, staff, parents and alumni, etc.
ERP can be benecial to increase transparency of institutional policies and student mobility
and faster processing documents.
11. 11
Benets of ERP in institutions
Campus wide integration on a common system this will improve internal communication
and also helps to Reduce or eliminate manual processes which will
Enhance strategic decision making and planning capabilities and establish a self –service
environment for employees also improve a self –service environment for students and
faculty. This will lead to higher availability of administrative systems
Support sophisticated data analysis for use in decision making and integrated workow,
industry best practices and reduced dependence on paper
Successful ERP implementation projects are less about technology and more about people
and processes. Hence is can be concluded that the benets of enterprise resource planning
are enormous which can benet the working system of an institution for the better.

INDIAN ARMED FORCES:A SOURCES OF PRIDE
INTRODUCTION: We often belittle our achievements. That’s crying shame. A sense of pride
has the power to raise people’s lives and hopes from the ordinary to the truly extraordinary.
Pride also makes a nation, and in times of despair and helplessness, can lift the spirit of a
billion people and there is a lot to be proud of amazing strides in information technology.
ABOUT: An army that defends the nation against stupendous odds A revolution in
agriculture a thriving free media, great institutions of learning.
➢ Prostheses like the incredible Jaipur foot that helps a shattered Afghanistan walk.
➢ Protest movements of immense courage, like that Chipko movement and the one that
saved Kerala silent valley even the dream factory of Indian cinema.
These achievements celebrate the spirit of India and touches our soul with its heady mix of
DO-GOOD and FEEL-GOOD, things that make us swell our chests with pride, may be
squeeze out a liar or two of job and ll us with a sense of appreciation and purpose. In this
tumultuous corner of the world where much is wrong and much need to be done, India today
offers this tribute to India:
Indian’s professional standing army of 1.1 million is the second largest in the world after
china’s army.
Yet it has steadfastly kept away from politics Indian’s re wall.
The defense services of any nation are usually a source of pride Re-enforced by trial and
heroism. India is no different. For the past seven months troops of the Indian army have been
strung out from the inhospitable siachen glacier in Jammu and Kashmir to sir creek in the ran
of kutch as part of Indian’s coercive diplomacy against Pakistan.
CONCLUSION: Security is a comforting feeling and if the providers are doing a good job
that alone is a source of pride. But there is another key reason: INDIAN’S ARMED FORCES
have steadfastly resisted the lure of politics.
