The document discusses Java programs, bytecode, and the Java Virtual Machine (JVM). It explains that Java source code is compiled into bytecode, an intermediate format that can run on any JVM. The JVM then executes the bytecode by parsing the instructions one by one. It describes how a Java program loads a class and executes its main method, and how classes must be linked and initialized before use. Finally, it provides an overview of how the JVM works, including just-in-time compilation to native machine code.
1) Class discussions in virtual learning environments occur through discussion boards rather than traditional in-class hand raising.

The document summarizes evidence disproving common Eurocentric myths about civilizations in India, Southeast Asia, and Japan between 1400-1800. It shows these regions had advanced economies, significant international trade, and states that promoted economic growth rather than hindered it as commonly believed. For example, India led the world in industries like cotton, steel, and was highly integrated in global trade networks. Japan also experienced rapid economic growth and urbanization under the Tokugawa shogunate in the 1600s, despite myths of isolationism. The document aims to provide a more well-rounded view that recognizes Eastern achievements rather than only a Eurocentric perspective.
Jason Fielder created the Delphi Scalper forex trading system to teach traders how to profit from short-term foreign exchange trades. The system uses indicators and triggers to identify optimal entry and exit points for trades that can be completed in minutes. It aims to allow traders to win multiple trades in a row with only a few trades needed per day. Some benefits include keeping trades brief, allowing other work to be done, and potentially generating enough profits to operate as a forex broker.

The document provides exercises for subscribing to RSS feeds from websites, libraries, and databases using Google Reader.
Ability for collaboration is an important skill in many modern professions. Students should master these skills to be able to participate in project work during study, as well as to work in different groups in the workplace (project groups and communities). An important issue in collaborative work is assessment of individual’s contribution. We will present methodology for qualitative evaluation of individual’s contribution in collaborative learning process supported by Wikis and Google Docs. Wikis provide an environment for collaborative writing and enable easy monitoring of students’ activities, such as frequency of editing and amount of published text. Google Docs is a Web-based application in which documents and spreadsheets can be created, edited and stored online. Google Docs could also be used in collaborative work in which multiple authors work together in real time.
We will present collaborative learning activities based on editing of Wikis or Google Docs followed by collaborative and peer assessment. Peer assessment is learning activity where students consider and specify the level, value or quality of a product or performance of other people in similar situation, usually student within a given class. Peer assessment is an important activity in collaborative learning.
Students will be divided into groups. Each group will consist of 3-4 students. Groups will select project topics regarding to the interest of the members from Videlectures.net or any other portal with scientific or educational video content.
The assessment of collaborative work will be supported by Moodle workshop.
