total stake of an Italian Enterprise, Technogenetics Srl, previ-
ously controlled by Bouty SpA (this latter controlled by the
Swiss group IBSA) to the Chinese group Shanghai Kehua Bio-
engineering KHB Co. Ltd. The buying company, one of China’s
most important pharmaceutical actors and one of the most
interesting emerging players worldwide in the development
and production of in vitro diagnostics, is controlled by Foun-
tainVest and Central Huijin Investment Ltd, among the largest
institutional investors in China.
Once purchased by KHB, Technogenetics Srl passed under
control of a NewCo called Technogenetics Holding Srl, where
Altergon Italy also transferred its in vitro diagnostic activities
as well as its R&D activities in Italy and in China (Qingdao and
Shenzhen). Financial Technologies managed the whole Advi-
sory process, from the identification of the purchaser to the
management of the dialogue with the controlling shareholder
of KHB along the whole transactional path, up to the final

Snapshot for Seminars Review in March:
HR & Digital Marketing
As a crucial part of AsianBiz Community activities, a round of
training sessions for its tenants was hosted in March, 2016.
Two events (Digital Marketing and Human Resources educa-
tional trainings) were successfully held, taking place on 7th
and 10th of March in Shanghai. The professionalized group of
speakers, as well as the current AsianBiz partners and tenants,
- Raymond Woo, Fang Xiao, Ethan Soo, Daisy Chen and Eric
Weng, presented actionable and practical tools of HR and Digi-
tal Marketing models and strategies. Auspiciously, HR training
session brought 31 attendees together, while Digital Market-
ing training- 34 attendees; all participants are from different
departments and industries.
If you are looking for more than just an office space,

In order to evaluate the level of expectations and satisfaction
among the attendees, the post evaluation survey was distrib-
uted. The data analysis showed the incredible outcomes: over
85% of participants believe in enormous importance of provid-
ing the training sessions and educational events due to the

one’s own expertise, networking opportunities and interaction
with the speakers, while over 90 % of the attendees remained
satisfied with the events and content provided.

On April 2nd, the fellows of the 2015/2016 Startup Leadership
Program (SLP) celebrated the graduation by completing the
program and introducing to a jury composed of business own-
ers and consultants their business ideas. During the Graduation
Day, the fellows had the chance to put in practice what had been
learnt during the program and pitch their project to a jury sub-
stitute investors.

As a long term partner of SLP, AsianBiz was honored to par-
ticipate in the graduation by sponsoring the winning prize and
taking part as one of the jury to test the highly selected found-
ers and innovators, who completed the program in getting the

of great deals on food products for expats and Chinese.
We congratulate of the fellows of the Startup Leadership Pro-

A: Good afternoon, Billy. Thanks for taking your time to talk
with me today. On behalf of AsianBiz Resources Centers and
Consulting, we congratulate your for winning the first prize
during the graduation from the Startup Leadership Program
(SLP).
Could you tell us more about your intentions to attend SLP, as
well as your experience with SLP?
B: Good afternoon, Alena. Initially, our motivation for joining
the program was really to improve our knowledge regarding
running a start-up business. I have IT background, while my
co-founder, Charles Zeng, has small business background. So
we were both missing some particular knowledge and skills
to really build up a start-up, so attending SLP gave us a lot of
fundamental skills we needed to build a real business in China.
First, the program is focused on Chinese market, whereas we
got training on various topics connected to running a business
particularly referring to Chinese business structure. Second,
what was really great about the program is that it gave us an
excellent knowledge base, for instance, conceptual context of
lean start-ups, creative thinking and other practical sessions,
like how to raise money, how to talk about shareholder equity.
It is a perfect program for those who started their business.
Besides, it is great not just because of intensive learning, but
also due to its networking opportunities. It showed us how to
connect people through business community in Shanghai. As a
result of its networking opportunities provided by SLP, it lead
us to connect with Chinaccelerator, the first mentorship-driven
seed-funding program in China, and became a part of Accelera-
tor a few weeks ago. Currently we have a bunch of resources
needed to grow up our business.
A: After being chosen by a jury of professionals as the best
business for investment pitching, how are you feeling?
B: Regarding our victory in the SLP competition for the best

pitch, it was very exciting, as most of the start-ups CEOs have
been in Chinese market for 10-15 years, so they know China
very well, they run their own businesses, and they are incred-
ibly talented and smart people so I was pretty nervous, because
they are just so good. On the same time, it is very satisfying,
because when you start your business everyone doubts you,
saying: “Your idea is not good enough”, “It is not going to work”,
“Are you sure that you want to do this?” and so on. Although, it
was a great satisfaction for us to win and be accepted as a liable
business by many industry start-up experts, being admitted
that our business is actually good, and we believe that we had
really good responses on all the questions received from the
experts.
A: So let’s start from the beginning. What is Foowala? What is
the idea behind it?
B: At that time I was working for Microsoft, and, in my opin-
ion, it is one of the best companies to work for. At that stage of
my life I wanted to create something special, that makes the
difference to the world, I wanted to grow something, to build
something organic and achieve something from it. The idea
itself became a great motivation for me to start my own busi-
ness. I was a tech fanatic since I was born, so it was very natural
for me to stay in a tech industry. I was very lucky that I bumped
into Charles, who is co-founder of Foowala, and he ran several

successful restaurants in Shanghai already. We were talking
about business, business models and ideas, and we just talked
about random things and then, he would always bring up the
same problem related to his own small business in Shanghai.
This problem was that a lot of small businesses like Charles’,
struggle with finding fairly reliable and quality tradesmen and
suppliers, and he always had to find some random people on
the Internet, meet random people and in the end of the day
they were cheating on him, lying to him, and it was a truly bad
experience not even only for him, but also for many our friends,
who run the restaurants in Shanghai. One day I just asked
Charles: “Why don’t we just fix this problem?”, and he was like
“What do you mean?”. The idea was about finding the solution
for all these people to solve this particular problem out. We
realized that we can actually start a business together and find
a real solution to help small businesses in Shanghai. And we
made a research about the same potentially existing platforms
or networks with the same business solutions on the business
market, although we could not find any related ones. This gap
on the market made us motivated and willing to run our busi-
ness. Moreover, we are both very passionate about what we do.
A: Being in such a competitive business market in China, what
differentiates you from others?
B: What really differentiates Foowala from our competitors in
China is that we really leverage technology in order to solve
an actual problem. Looking at our existing competitors on the
market, we can say that all of them use very old technology
to solve the basic problems. We decided there is a better way
how to run a business. A lot of existing competitors operate on
Yahoo, or most of the services are manual-based and they have
a multiple options in order to find some particular help and
support that a consumer has to go through. And we were think-
ing why we cannot have B2B platform for small and medium
businesses with only one touch button like Google and you tell
us what your problem is and we will solve it. For us it seemed
like very logical solution, leveraging modern technologies to
solve the problem. That is what differentiates us from our
competitors: our willingness to embrace modern technology in
the way of doing business. None of our competitors even has
thought about it yet.
A: What is your vision for the next 3-5 years?
B: Within the next 3 to 5 years, we really want to be the num-
ber one B2B platform for all small businesses in China, serving
all the small businesses’ needs across the board. That is our
goal for the next 3-5 years. And we think that it is possible,
because we can move faster than anyone else, and Charles and
I have all necessary skills and network we need to succeed in
our goal.
A: Based on your experience, what would you say is the hardest
thing about being an entrepreneur?
B: The hardest thing about being a start-up entrepreneur is
that you start something completely new, that nobody tried
beforehand and people that not used to it. And there are so
many things that can doubt you: you do not know if people like
or need it, if they will use it, and you get doubts every day from
others: competitors, investors and so on. You have to find this
strength to overcome these doubts. If you can fight for your
idea, then you can succeed. You get pushed a lot, and any leader
must be good at taking it and pushing forward and going to his
goal and dream. You get punched, it makes you stronger.
A: You are managing to transform your idea into a business.

B: I know what start-up people think about, what they try to
achieve, they have their vision and their dream, and sometimes
they think that there is the only one way to succeed and they
are very driven to get to the desirable point. The only problem
is that it is not how a start-up works. I will give one of my fa-
vorite quotes for people starting a business: be like a water, my
friend! That’s really how any leader has to act on his way, espe-
cially for Internet start-ups, you have to be able to adapt, and
experience, and change your idea as it goes. A start-up does not
work from the straight line, every single one has its patterns.
To conclude, the key is to never give up and try new things over
time and be able to admit that something does not work and
try another way of doing it, know what your capabilities like.

On Thursday, April 21, 2016, LOADINN in a partnership with
AsianBiz Consulting, Shanghai Women Leadership Network and
Startup Leadership Program hosted “It’s Social, It’s Business”
event in Shanghai with a special keynote address from startups
working with children, senior citizens, women or creating eco-
logical paper describing their vision and business ideas.

The goal of the event was to learn and get motivated on how
we can create positive impact in the society doing sustainable
and socially responsible business in China. Among the speakers
were representatives of the following startups: Gure Bazterrak,
a music record that develop musical actions, Sheedo, an artisa-
nal paper made out of organic and recycled materials instead
of cellulose, Flashback, focused on improving senior citizen life-
style, Zocco Handmade, handmade products company which
gather the tradition, materials and techniques of different coun-
tries in order to help local communities.

in the event. An added feature of the night included a special

have. An environment we work in
has the strongest influence on our
psychological well-being and
creativity. Considering that many
of us work in the same office for
many years, or even at the same

neuroscience findings, conducted
by American scientists, there are
some efficient steps you can take
to improve your productivity for

linked with improved productiv-

consultancy, showed this in a 2010
study with Alex Haslam involv-
ing 47 office workers in London.
Those workers were given the
opportunity to arrange a small
office with as many or few plants
and pictures as they wanted were
up to 32 percent more productive
than others not given this control.
Beside they identified more with
their employer, a sign of
increased commitment to the
team effort and increased effi-
ciency.
Also, you should consider choos-
ing a layout and furniture that is
curved and rounded rather than
sharp and straight-edged. Creating
this environment has been linked
with positive emotions, which is
known to be beneficial for creativ-
ity and productivity.

In a 2011 study, hundreds of
undergrads looked at computer-
generated pictures of room inte-
riors and rated those filled with
curvilinear (rounded), as opposed
to rectilinear, furniture as more

ronments as more beautiful than
straight-edged rectilinear environ-
ments and that the rounded spaces
triggered more activity in brain
regions associated with reward
and aesthetic appreciation.
Choosing the right color and
lighting for your office is one of
the simplest ways your environ-
ment can enhance your perfor-
mance. Different colors and light
levels have different psychological
effects, so the ideal situation is
to install a lighting system that
allows you to alter the hue and
brightness of your room to suit
the kind of work that you’re en-
gaged in. For instance, exposure
to both blue and green has been
shown to enhance performance
on tasks that require generating
new ideas. However, the color
red has been linked with superior
performance on tasks involving
attention to detail.
If you only do one thing to opti-
mize your workspace, invest in a
green plant or two. Research has
repeatedly shown that the pres-
ence of office plants has a range
of benefits including helping
workers recover from demand-
ing activities and lowering stress
levels. As a bonus, there’s also
evidence that plants can reduce
office pollution levels. It’s easy to
neglect the importance of your
workspace, especially if you’re
under pressure of deadlines and
not so into interior design. But
hopefully this review has con-
vinced you that the spaces we
occupy really can affect us psy-
chologically. It’s vital that you
choose an office space that you
feel happy and comfortable in. If
your freedom is restricted, shape
the space as much as you can to

How To Get Driving License For Foreigners In China?

For those who already have a valid
foreign drivers license:
If you are a foreigner and you wish to
drive in China, you have to apply for
a Chinese driving license. According
to China’s traffic safety law, foreign-
ers must visit Chinese police depart-
ments that will issue a valid driving
license.
Foreigners can use their national
driver’s license to apply for a Chi-
nese driver’s license, this method is
the quickest and most convenient,
although the application process
includes one theoretical exam.
How to apply:
1. Foreigners should apply at the
same place of their residency;
2. Applicants have to meet the eli-
gibility criteria. Mutual recognition
agreements between countries of the
motor vehicle driver’s license, accord-
ing to the agreement do rationale.
The signing of the agreement relates
to motor vehicle driver’s license, in
accordance with the agreement ex-
ecuted between the countries.
3. Applicants have to provide
an overseas motor vehicle driving
license application form and submit
the following certificates and vouch-
ers:
(A) proof of identity of the appli-
cant; (passport, visa, work permit,
and so on);
(B) proof of proper physical condi-
tion issued by medical institutions;
For those who do not have a foreign
license and/or do not have any pre-
vious driving experience:
For foreigners who do not have any
previous foreign license, the proce-
dure to get a Chinese license is simi-
lar as for Chinese nationals.
The first step will be to fing a driving
school in your area that accepts for-
eign students. Many driving schools
will not accept foreign students un-
less you speak fluent Chinese.
To qualify for enrollment you must
provide:
-temporary residence registration in
the same city of driving school;
-Valid passport and residence permit ;
-50% deposit for driving tuition.
After enrollment, you have to take a
written exam. Once you have mas-
tered the basics , that’s the time for
practical lessons.
You are required to complete 40
hours of driving lessons at an ac-
credited driving school institution.
Once 40 hours are completed you are
eligible to sign up for the course test.
Then proceed to schedule the road
test which will be administered by a
police officer of your local motor ve-
hicle department.When you pass, you
will receive your driving license.
有外国驾照的同学们:
持有国外驾照的驾驶员,到中国后要驾车
必须换证,否则不能在国内开车。按照我
国交通安全法规定,外国人在我国道路驾
驶机动车,必须持有我国公安交警部门颁
发的有效机动车驾驶证,持国外驾照不可
上路行驶。
第一种:如果外国人没有外国驾驶证想申
请中国驾驶证,就要到驾校办理报名考驾
照才能申请中国驾驶证
第二种:基本上外国人都有他们自己国家
的驾驶证,他们可以利用自己国家的驾驶
证再申请中国驾驶证,这种方法是最快捷
最方便的,只考一次理论考试就行了,下
面是外国驾照换中国驾照的申请方法。
机动车驾驶证申领和使用规定 :
境外人员,应当在居留地提出申请;
持有境外机动车驾驶证,符合本规定的申
请条件,可以申请对应准驾车型的机动车
驾驶证.
国家之间对机动车驾驶证有互相认可协议
的,按照协议办理。
国家之间签订有关协定涉及机动车驾驶证
的,按照协定执行。
持境外机动车驾驶证的人申请机动车驾驶
证,应当填写《机动车驾驶证申请表》,
并提交以下证明、凭证:
申请人的身份证明;(护照,签证,工作证
之类的);
县级以上医疗机构出具的有关身体条件的
证明.
对于那些目前没有外国执照或者没有任何
先前的驾驶体验:
对于没有任何先前的外国驾照的外国人,
获取中国驾照的步骤类似于中国公民。为
了有资格入学必须具备:
搜索您所在地区驾驶学校所接受的外国学
生。除非你讲一口流利的中文,许多驾驶
学校不接受外国留学生。大多数驾驶学校
都位于远离城市的市中心,由于土地成本
高。
为符合资格报名必须提供:
-在同一个城市驾驶学校 - 临时居留登记
- 有效护照
- 有效居留许可(不能是签证)
-学费-50%的定金
一旦录取,驾校的第一部分是书面考试。
一旦你掌握了书面考试的基础知识,那你
就志在必得了。
你需要在国家认可的驾驶学校的机构来完
成40小时的动手驾驶课。 40小时可安排
根据自己的喜好在一段时间内根据自己的
喜好。一旦40小时内完成,你有资格报
名参加专业课考试。本课程考试将很快的
40小时完成后服用。然后继续安排路考
将由当地的机动车辆部门的警务人员进行

Snapshot for Seminars Review in March: HR & Digital Marketing As a crucial part of AsianBiz Community activities, a round of training sessions for its tenants was hosted in March, 2016. Two events (Digital Marketing and Human Resources educa- tional trainings) were successfully held, taking place on 7th and 10th of March in Shanghai. The professionalized group of speakers, as well as the current AsianBiz partners and tenants, - Raymond Woo, Fang Xiao, Ethan Soo, Daisy Chen and Eric Weng, presented actionable and practical tools of HR and Digi- tal Marketing models and strategies. Auspiciously, HR training session brought 31 attendees together, while Digital Market- ing training- 34 attendees; all participants are from different departments and industries. If you are looking for more than just an office space, AsianBiz is the right choice. In order to evaluate the level of expectations and satisfaction among the attendees, the post evaluation survey was distrib- uted. The data analysis showed the incredible outcomes: over 85% of participants believe in enormous importance of provid- ing the training sessions and educational events due to the opportunity to expand knowledge, ability to share ideas from one’s own expertise, networking opportunities and interaction with the speakers, while over 90 % of the attendees remained satisfied with the events and content provided. During the Graduation Day, the fellows had the chance to put in practice what had been learnt during the program and pitch their project to a jury sub- stitute investors.   • 5. A: Good afternoon, Billy. Thanks for taking your time to talk with me today. On behalf of AsianBiz Resources Centers and Consulting, we congratulate your for winning the first prize during the graduation from the Startup Leadership Program (SLP). Could you tell us more about your intentions to attend SLP, as well as your experience with SLP? B: Good afternoon, Alena. Initially, our motivation for joining the program was really to improve our knowledge regarding running a start-up business. I have IT background, while my co-founder, Charles Zeng, has small business background. So we were both missing some particular knowledge and skills to really build up a start-up, so attending SLP gave us a lot of fundamental skills we needed to build a real business in China. First, the program is focused on Chinese market, whereas we got training on various topics connected to running a business particularly referring to Chinese business structure. Second, what was really great about the program is that it gave us an excellent knowledge base, for instance, conceptual context of lean start-ups, creative thinking and other practical sessions, like how to raise money, how to talk about shareholder equity. It is a perfect program for those who started their business. Besides, it is great not just because of intensive learning, but also due to its networking opportunities. It showed us how to connect people through business community in Shanghai. As a result of its networking opportunities provided by SLP, it lead us to connect with Chinaccelerator, the first mentorship-driven seed-funding program in China, and became a part of Accelera- tor a few weeks ago. Currently we have a bunch of resources needed to grow up our business. A: After being chosen by a jury of professionals as the best business for investment pitching, how are you feeling? B: Regarding our victory in the SLP competition for the best Interview with SLP Graduation Winner pitch, it was very exciting, as most of the start-ups CEOs have been in Chinese market for 10-15 years, so they know China very well, they run their own businesses, and they are incred- ibly talented and smart people so I was pretty nervous, because they are just so good. On the same time, it is very satisfying, because when you start your business everyone doubts you, saying: “Your idea is not good enough”, “It is not going to work”, “Are you sure that you want to do this?” and so on. Although, it was a great satisfaction for us to win and be accepted as a liable business by many industry start-up experts, being admitted that our business is actually good, and we believe that we had really good responses on all the questions received from the experts. A: So let’s start from the beginning. What is Foowala? What is the idea behind it? B: At that time I was working for Microsoft, and, in my opin- ion, it is one of the best companies to work for. At that stage of my life I wanted to create something special, that makes the difference to the world, I wanted to grow something, to build something organic and achieve something from it. The idea itself became a great motivation for me to start my own busi- ness. I was a tech fanatic since I was born, so it was very natural for me to stay in a tech industry. We were talking about business, business models and ideas, and we just talked about random things and then, he would always bring up the same problem related to his own small business in Shanghai. This problem was that a lot of small businesses like Charles’, struggle with finding fairly reliable and quality tradesmen and suppliers, and he always had to find some random people on the Internet, meet random people and in the end of the day they were cheating on him, lying to him, and it was a truly bad experience not even only for him, but also for many our friends, who run the restaurants in Shanghai. One day I just asked Charles: “Why don’t we just fix this problem?”, and he was like “What do you mean?”. The idea was about finding the solution for all these people to solve this particular problem out. We realized that we can actually start a business together and find a real solution to help small businesses in Shanghai. And we made a research about the same potentially existing platforms or networks with the same business solutions on the business market, although we could not find any related ones. This gap on the market made us motivated and willing to run our busi- ness. Moreover, we are both very passionate about what we do. A: Being in such a competitive business market in China, what differentiates you from others? B: What really differentiates Foowala from our competitors in China is that we really leverage technology in order to solve an actual problem. Looking at our existing competitors on the market, we can say that all of them use very old technology to solve the basic problems. We decided there is a better way how to run a business. A lot of existing competitors operate on Yahoo, or most of the services are manual-based and they have a multiple options in order to find some particular help and support that a consumer has to go through. And we were think- ing why we cannot have B2B platform for small and medium businesses with only one touch button like Google and you tell us what your problem is and we will solve it. For us it seemed like very logical solution, leveraging modern technologies to solve the problem. That is what differentiates us from our competitors: our willingness to embrace modern technology in the way of doing business. None of our competitors even has thought about it yet. A: What is your vision for the next 3-5 years? B: Within the next 3 to 5 years, we really want to be the num- ber one B2B platform for all small businesses in China, serving all the small businesses’ needs across the board. That is our goal for the next 3-5 years. And we think that it is possible, because we can move faster than anyone else, and Charles and I have all necessary skills and network we need to succeed in our goal. A: Based on your experience, what would you say is the hardest thing about being an entrepreneur? B: The hardest thing about being a start-up entrepreneur is that you start something completely new, that nobody tried beforehand and people that not used to it. And there are so many things that can doubt you: you do not know if people like or need it, if they will use it, and you get doubts every day from others: competitors, investors and so on. You have to find this strength to overcome these doubts. If you can fight for your idea, then you can succeed. You get pushed a lot, and any leader must be good at taking it and pushing forward and going to his goal and dream. You get punched, it makes you stronger. Different colors and light levels have different psychological effects, so the ideal situation is to install a lighting system that allows you to alter the hue and brightness of your room to suit the kind of work that you’re en- gaged in. For instance, exposure to both blue and green has been shown to enhance performance on tasks that require generating new ideas. However, the color red has been linked with superior performance on tasks involving attention to detail. If you only do one thing to opti- mize your workspace, invest in a green plant or two. Research has repeatedly shown that the pres- ence of office plants has a range of benefits including helping workers recover from demand- ing activities and lowering stress levels. As a bonus, there’s also evidence that plants can reduce office pollution levels. It’s easy to neglect the importance of your workspace, especially if you’re under pressure of deadlines and not so into interior design. But hopefully this review has con- vinced you that the spaces we occupy really can affect us psy- chologically. It’s vital that you choose an office space that you feel happy and comfortable in.
