DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE ST. JOHN’S BIBLE IS?

It is the first Bible since the Middle Ages
to be totally hand written and illustrated.

St. John’s Abbey in Collegeville, Minnesota
assembled some of the most talented calligraphers and
illuminators in the world to carry on this task. The product is
breathtaking in many ways. On Sundays October 17th and
24th at 11:00 you are invited to attend some presentations
that will show you how the work was done and what the
finished product looks like. We will also consider what this
incredible task means for the life of the Church.

Come and experience a wondrous new expression of our
Christian faith as we take time
to get acquainted with the St. John’s Bible.

God has blessed us with many volunteers to serve as leaders

                        our children.

We have a terrific bunch of leaders, but there are still a few
rotation leader openings in the late winter and spring.

We are also looking for someone to co-direct the children's
program. If you're interested in leading a rotation or helping
with the Christmas program, please contact Cheryl Scaffidi at

Movie Night

It is almost Halloween and we should see something scary for movie night,
but not too scary. So what should we watch? How about Zombieland. This
comedy/horror film stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone
and even an appearance by Bill Murray. In the early twenty-first century,
zombies have taken over America. A shy and inexperienced college student
in Texas has survived by following his 30 rules: such as "look in the back
seat," "shoot twice," "avoid public restrooms." He decides to travel to Ohio to
see if his parents are alive. He gets a ride with a boisterous zombie-hating
good-old boy headed for Florida, and soon they confront a young woman
whose sister has been bitten by a zombie and wants to be put out of her
misery. The sisters were headed to an LA amusement park they've heard is
zombie free. Can the kid from Ohio get to his family? And what is family
anyway? And what about rule thirty one? You want to know? Come and
see Zombieland on October 25th at 6:30 P.M.
DRIVERS WANTED—Please!
We are in need of more volunteers to pick
up members who need a ride and bring
them to Saturday evening worship. There
are 2 or 3 mobile people who need your
help. If you can spare a little time on a
Saturday evening to help out with this
ministry please contact the church office at
334-2125 or call Sandy Duehring at 262-
692-6371 and we’ll get you on the rotation
            list as soon as possible.
             (We really need help!!)
                    Thank you.

OCTOBER BOOK STUDY

October seemed a good month for a thriller of a book study
(with Halloween and all) and so for October we will be
reading the book, “Needful Things” by Stephen King. This
is one of Stephen Kingʼs older books, but I think it is one of
Stephen Kingʼs most insightful books on the nature of evil.
What would you do for the things you most want in the
world? What if what was required seemed such a small sin?
This is the backdrop of Stephen Kingʼs novel. Be warned
the novel is somewhat graphic in detail. We will discuss this
book at two different times to accommodate peopleʼs
differing schedules. One group will meet Thursday October
21st at 6:30 P.M.; the other will meet Tuesday October 26th
at 1:00 in the afternoon. If neither of these times works for
you let me know and maybe we can talk about the book
                       over a cup of coffee.
Spread A Little Joy...
The Threshold clients enjoy the visits made
by a local pianist and accordion player. They
would welcome anyone who plays another
instrument to join them occasionally for a little
entertainment! If you or someone you know
could spare some time, this group would very
much appreciate it. Call Barb at 338-4431
                to set up a date.
