Organism can multiply freely in water.

Its primary habitat is the marine ecosystem.
It lives in association with plankton.
Cholera has 2 main reservoirs, humans and
water.

14. Risk factors
Poor sanitary conditions.
Reduced or nonexistent stomach acid.
Household exposure.
Type O blood.
Raw or undercooked shellfish.
15. Treatment
Rehydration :
ORS (oral rehydration solution)
Salt and sugar water.
Antibiotic treatment:
tetracycline, doxycycline, furazolidone, or
ciprofloxacin.
16. Prevention
• Use latrines; do not defecate in any body of
water.
• Wash hands with soap and safe water after
defecating.
• Wash hand before eating.
• Cover the food.
• Wash fruits and vegetables before use.
• Vaccinate the body.
