China and the US are sparring over the origin of the coronavirus pandemic. A Chinese official promoted a conspiracy theory that the US army brought the virus to Wuhan, without evidence. This contradicts China's initial assessment that the seafood market in Wuhan was the source. While the exact origin is still unclear, scientists believe the virus jumped from an animal to humans at the Wuhan market. The WHO says COVID-19 was unknown before the outbreak in Wuhan in December 2019. The US calls it the "Wuhan virus", angering China.

Correlation between Human Origin and the Severity of COVID19ijtsrd
It has been reported that the severity of coronavirus infectious disease COVID 19 is due to several factors such as age and the presence or absence of chronic disease. Furthermore, it has been reported that genetic factors affect the severity of COVID 19. A recently published study of the COVID 19 Host Genetics Initiative suggests that genetic manifolds in the region located on chromosome 3 may increase the risk of the severity of COVID 19. A Perspective Approach of Community Medicine in Corona Virus Disease COVID 19ijtsrd
Coronavirus disease COVID 19 is an infectious disease caused by the SARS CoV 2 coronavirus, which has spread rapidly across the world. The World Health Organization WHO proclaimed the COVID 19 outbreak a pandemic in March 2020. The pandemic has wreaked havoc on global health systems, as well as economic and social development. The rate of transmission is relatively high.As a result, regardless of vaccine history or previous infection, the CDC recommends that anyone with any signs or symptoms of COVID 19 be checked. Everyday Preventive Actions, as well as having the Covid 19 Vaccine when it is safe, will protect you and your loved ones. Speedy variants power COVID-19 surge sweeping EuropeMartinBujdos
Genetic analysis confirmed what officials already suspected: The highly contagious coronavirus variant first identified in England was racing through the community, a densely packed city of nearly 40,000 with a chemical plant and Pirelli bicycle tire factory a 15-minute drive from the heart of Milan.
The Coronavirus Disease – 2019 (COVID-19) is officially now a pandemic and not just a public health emergency of international concern as previously labelled. Worldwide, the new coronavirus has infected more than 4.9 million people and leaving more than 300,000 people dead in 188 countries. As countries of the world get locked down in an effort to contain the widespread of the virus, experts are concern about the global impacts of the pandemic on individuals, countries and the world at large. Millions of people are currently under quarantine across the globe. Many countries have responded by proclaiming a public health emergency, closed their borders and restrict incoming flights from high risk countries. This has grossly affected the travel plan of many. Several international programs, conferences, workshops and sporting activities are either postponed or cancelled. As the number of confirmed cases continues to escalate across the globe, hospitals seems to be running out of medical supplies, hospital spaces and personnel. Health workers are being overwhelmed by the numbers of people requesting for testing and treatment. Many of such health workers have been infected with the coronavirus and even lost their lives since the fight against COVID-19 started. Public health experts are also concerned about the huge medical wastes coming from the hospitals at this time and the adverse effects associated with improper management of such medical wastes, both at the hospital and community levels. The pandemic has also impacted negatively on the global economy. There have been serious crises in the stock market, with gross fall in the price of crude oil resulting in inflation and economic hardship among the populace. Many are currently out of job and as a result, the level of crime, protest and violence have continued to escalate in different parts of the world. The deaths of loved ones due to the coronavirus has left many emotionally traumatized. Nigeria, like other African countries is not spared of the ravaging effects of the pandemic, even as the government take strict measures to contain the virus. No doubt, this is very challenging, but the country is capable of surmounting the virus with the needed help from her international partners and cooperation from the citizenry. But if we as a people, remain complacent and continue with business as usual, without taking measures to flatten the curve, the disease will escalate too quickly beyond our capacity to handle and our health system will be overwhelmed and may collapse eventually. We cannot therefore afford to be complacent in our response to containing the pandemic.
COVID 19 is a contagious disease caused by a betacoronavirus, which began in Wuhan, China in late 2019. Until now, this new illness has affected more than 6 million people worldwide, and has claimed more than 300 000 human lives. Governments around the globe were faced with the coronavirus pandemic crisis and designed strategies to slow or halt viral transmission. Measures undertaken included enforcing countrywide lockdowns, banning mass gatherings, closing schools and businesses and halting international travel.
The paper examines Covid-19 from the perspective of an imam in relation to Islamic teachings and media representation explaining that moslems and non-moslems are pre-disposed to succumb to fear and falsehood in line with pre-end-times Qur’anic prophecies that encapsulate the Islamic eschatology.
In contour and thrusts, the paper is journalistic weaving interpretation of Qur’anic verses blended in a posit recursive narration of media-obsessive treatment of the Coronavirus as distinct from other historical pandemics

Coronavirus effects heighten fears of recession in the world economy. Stock exchanges have had a difficult week around the world and, in Europe, the recession seems inevitable. The paralysis in China weighs on domestic growth because the supply chains of multinationals need components made in Chinese factories to guarantee their production. Consumption in western countries will be strongly affected. Tourism, air transport, leisure are already suffering the consequences.
Trump suggests 'injection' of disinfectant to beat coronavirus and 'clean' th...Alexandra Yepes
President Donald Trump suggested the possibility of an "injection" of disinfectant into a person infected with the coronavirus as a deterrent to the virus during his daily briefing Thursday.
As Europe's leading economic powerhouse and the fourth-largest hashtag#economy globally, Germany stands at the forefront of innovation and industrial might. Renowned for its precision engineering and high-tech sectors, Germany's economic structure is heavily supported by a robust service industry, accounting for approximately 68% of its GDP. This economic clout and strategic geopolitical stance position Germany as a focal point in the global cyber threat landscape.
In the face of escalating global tensions, particularly those emanating from geopolitical disputes with nations like hashtag#Russia and hashtag#China, hashtag#Germany has witnessed a significant uptick in targeted cyber operations. Our analysis indicates a marked increase in hashtag#cyberattack sophistication aimed at critical infrastructure and key industrial sectors. These attacks range from ransomware campaigns to hashtag#AdvancedPersistentThreats (hashtag#APTs), threatening national security and business integrity.
🔑 Key findings include:
🔍 Increased frequency and complexity of cyber threats.
🔍 Escalation of state-sponsored and criminally motivated cyber operations.
🔍 Active dark web exchanges of malicious tools and tactics.
Our comprehensive report delves into these challenges, using a blend of open-source and proprietary data collection techniques. By monitoring activity on critical networks and analyzing attack patterns, our team provides a detailed overview of the threats facing German entities.
This report aims to equip stakeholders across public and private sectors with the knowledge to enhance their defensive strategies, reduce exposure to cyber risks, and reinforce Germany's resilience against cyber threats.
Levelwise PageRank with Loop-Based Dead End Handling Strategy : SHORT REPORT ...Subhajit Sahu
Abstract — Levelwise PageRank is an alternative method of PageRank computation which decomposes the input graph into a directed acyclic block-graph of strongly connected components, and processes them in topological order, one level at a time. This enables calculation for ranks in a distributed fashion without per-iteration communication, unlike the standard method where all vertices are processed in each iteration. It however comes with a precondition of the absence of dead ends in the input graph. Here, the native non-distributed performance of Levelwise PageRank was compared against Monolithic PageRank on a CPU as well as a GPU. To ensure a fair comparison, Monolithic PageRank was also performed on a graph where vertices were split by components. Results indicate that Levelwise PageRank is about as fast as Monolithic PageRank on the CPU, but quite a bit slower on the GPU. Slowdown on the GPU is likely caused by a large submission of small workloads, and expected to be non-issue when the computation is performed on massive graphs.

The spat comes as China tries to deflect blame for the
contagion and reframe itself as a country that took decisive
steps to buy the world time by placing huge swathes of its
population under quarantine.

With cases falling in China and soaring abroad, Beijing is now
rejecting the widely held assessment that the city of Wuhan is
the birthplace of the outbreak.
3. Foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian went a step further on
Thursday, saying on Twitter that "it might be US army who
brought the epidemic to Wuhan" -- without providing any
evidence.
He doubled down on his claim on Friday by posting a link to an
article from a website known for publishing conspiracy theories
about the 9/11 attacks.

Censors usually vigilant against rumours have also allowed
Chinese social media users to spread similar claims about the US
being behind the virus.
A video showing a US health official saying some flu victims
were posthumously diagnosed as having had COVID-19 was
among the top searched items on China's Twitter-like Weibo
this week, with some users saying it was evidence the virus
originated in the US.
Zhao posted the clip on Twitter.
Dali Yang, a political science professor at the University of
Chicago, said he believes Zhao was "tweeting in his official
capacity".
China's intention in promoting the conspiracy theory is "to
divert from domestic discontent" over the handling of the
outbreak, which has killed more than 3,100 people in the
country.
Asked if Zhao was representing the government's view, fellow
foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang told reporters on
Friday that "the international community, including (people) in
4. the United States, have different views on the source of the
virus".
"China from the beginning thinks this is a scientific issue, and
that we need to listen to scientific and professional advice," Geng
said.

The push to question the origin of the disease contradicts
China's own initial assessment about the source of the virus,
which has now killed nearly 5,000 people worldwide.
Gao Fu, head of China's Center for Disease Control and
Prevention, said in January "we now know the source of the
virus is wild animals sold at the seafood market" in
Wuhan..
Chinese authorities themselves saw Wuhan and the rest of
Hubei province as a threat as they placed the region of 56
million people under strict quarantine to contain the epidemic.

Washington, DC. Christl Donnelly, a professor of statistical
epidemiology at Imperial College London, said genetic analysis of
coronavirus samples collected from around the world shows a
common ancestor in China.
"This is not in any way blaming a particular country," she told AFP.
'Wuhan virus'
The United States, meanwhile, has angered China by using language
directly linking the virus to the country.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has called it the "Wuhan virus",
prompting Beijing to reject the term as "despicable" and
"disrespecting science".
US President Donald Trump started a televised address to his nation
on Wednesday by speaking about the outbreak "that started in
China".
The language is "part of his dog-whistling politics," said Australian
National University researcher Yun Jiang.
The WHO warns against naming infectious diseases in a way that
encourages discrimination against ethnic groups.
Robert O'Brien, the US national security adviser, on Wednesday
insisted that the virus originated in Wuhan.
Blaming the pandemic on a lack of cooperation from Chinese officials
and a cover-up when the outbreak first emerged, O'Brien said this
had "cost the world community two months to respond" to the
threat.
7. Beijing called his remarks "extremely immoral and also
irresponsible".
Jiang said that "by sowing doubts into people's mind about where
the virus originated, they're trying to deflect part of the blame for
the outbreak".
