Personal Statement
Proactive | Committed | Creative | Resilient
I have been working in the voluntary sector for over 13 years. During this period, I have been an integral part of two inspiring
organisations in Zambia and the UK, providing continuous service for 6 and 7 years respectively. This evidences my commitment
and dedication to promoting positive outcomes for children and families. In my pursuit of supporting capacity for change for
some of the most vulnerable and marginalised groups in society; I have been able to apply a wide range of knowledge and skills
to help build family relationships, resource and resilience. As a result of this I have celebrated many successes in enabling clients
to live stable and fulfilling lives. My practice is child and family centred and adopts a relationship-based approach drawing
influence from social work, education, youth work, therapy and mental health. My key strengths include being able to work
flexibly in complex situations, mediating as well as advocating and ultimately aiming to strengthen the resources within families
and communities to enhance their wellbeing and enable them to contribute positively to society.
I have actively pursued professional development opportunities to become an even more safe and effective practitioner in
