Career History
June 14 – present (currently on a 1 year’s leave of Absence whilst relocating )
Rehab Care, Ireland
Auditor
Whilst remaining Site Manager, I was asked by Rehab Care to take on the additional role of
Auditing its 12 Residential Services throughout Ireland because the systems and structures I
had put in place in my own Services had achieved the standards set by the Government Health
Information Quality Authority (HIQA). This involved visiting the Services, reporting in detail on
their operations, briefing and follow up coaching of the managers involved. I was also asked to
be on a number of groups updating and adapting Rehab Care Policies. These included Finance,
Medication and Positive Behaviour Management Policies.
June 09 – present
Rehab Care, Ireland
Site Manager, South Tipperary
Initially appointed Manager of the one existing Residential Service , but with the brief to
expand the Services on site . This was achieved by setting up 4 additional Services and taking
on responsibility for the Day Care Service on site.
As such , I managed and supported 2 Team Leaders , 28 staff and 12 Individuals for the
Residential Services and 1 Team leader , 6 staff and 13 Individuals for the Day Service.
Managed an annual budget for the site of €1 million.
2. 2 | P a g e
Managed all Health and Safety aspects for site which resulted in high commendation from
HIQA for the work in my service on Risk Assessments through to positive Risk Management.
Rehab Care then asked me to disseminate this work through seminar to all Rehab Managers so
that the same level and approach could be used across all Services in Ireland.
Support Individuals with disability to reach a greater level of independence. Some individuals
progressed from full residential support to supported independent living. This was achieved by
assessing, devising and running programmes to support these individuals through skills
learning or behavioural supports alongside Positive, Person centred Planning.
Set up systems and structures which allowed the Residential Services to pass HIQA
competency.
Managed a rural setting with animal husbandry and horticulture.
Trained Staff throughout Ireland in Crisis prevention and Positive Behaviour Management.
Regularly liaised with Share Holders to both inform and seek financial support. This promoted
their continued commitment to our Services and maintained positive working relationships.
Looked for opportunities to open and expand new ventures. For example, established a
Service for individuals with the dual diagnosis of a learning disability and a mental illness. This
developed from the closing down of local Psychiatric hospitals and units and integrating long
stay individuals back into the community. This also profited Rehab Care financially.

Interests
I am a mum of 4 children, one of which has a Disability. Despite this busy home life, and in recent
years against the background of increasing marital difficulties and eventual breakdown, I have always
maintained a high standard of work with clear work /home boundaries. I am always looking to
develop and expand my experience and interests, such as when I took on the additional responsibility
to audit Rehab Services and became involved in developing the Rehab Policies.
A feature of my busy home life has been supporting my children in their various chosen sports and
activities- Athletics, Cricket ,Fencing etc. In the process of providing this support, I became a qualified
Cricket Coach, the first such female coach in Southern Ireland.
Having relocated to England, I have spent time supporting my local community and have recently
been appointed Trustee and Secretary of Croston Flood Relief, now established as a Charity.
