The study examined child labor in restaurants in 5 areas of Indore city, India. It aimed to understand the causes of child labor, the types of work children perform, and working conditions. Researchers found high numbers of children under 18 working in restaurants, performing various tasks for long hours in poor conditions. The primary driver of child labor was poverty and inability of families to afford children's basic needs or education. Children often had to drop out of school to work and support themselves or their families financially.
