Chicago is a 1975 Broadway musical and 2000 film adaptation about Roxy Hart, a woman who murders her lover in 1920s Chicago. She hires slick lawyer Billy Flynn to handle her case. While in prison awaiting trial, Roxy meets Velma Kelly, another murderer who kills her sister and husband after finding them together. Roxy and Velma become a double act and perform for the other inmates. The musical explores themes of crime, corruption, and the exploitation of murderesses by the media. It features Bob Fosse's signature dark and stylized choreography, including moves like the rake, stack, drip and crane.
