In 2012-2013, 11 AmeriCorps VISTA volunteers significantly improved community health by connecting 19,562 individuals to healthcare services and engaging more than 14,000 in health literacy initiatives, with 75% showing increased health education. Additionally, the efforts positively impacted 21,035 underserved individuals by addressing various health determinants and engaging 1,676 new volunteers who contributed over 30,000 hours of service. The volunteers also helped secure over $130,000 in cash and $8,000 in non-cash resources for their organizations.
