CES 2015 / A REVIEW by Cyrille Chaudoit
Head of Digital Transformation at The LINKS (@cchaudoit)
I’ve been 4 days at CES2015 and this is my
review of what I noticed, learned and also
what I’ve been amused of. Obviously i’m not
pretending doing an exhaustive work but my
try is to share 2 or 3 key facts with you.

main attraction of this CES. The Mercedes F015 Luxury in Motion is

3D PRINTING
ONCE AGAIN, NOTHING NEW BUT A BIGGER MARKET WITH MORE AND MORE
MANUFACTURERS BOTH OF PRINTERS AND SCANNERS,
MAKING « MAKERS » MORE MAINSTREAM…
This VOXEL8 printer is a new way to print an end-to-end product
including electronics, just like this mini drone. Watch the video.
Just scan your face to become a superhero… or just yourself
« ROBOLUTION »
SOME OF US ARE AFRAID ABOUT ROBOTICS. IN ONE HAND ROBOTS
SEEM COMPLICATED, VERY TECHNOLOGICAL, AND ON THE OTHER HAND, THEY ARE
SEEN AS THREATS IN POP-CULTURE (TERMINATOR, I-ROBOT…).
BUT WHAT I SAW IN CES 2015 LETS ME GUESS THAT ROBOTICS IS ABOUT TO
GET INSIDE OUR HOUSE THANKS TO… OUR KIDS !
I MET A BUNCH OF VERY INTERESTING GAMES THAT WILL TRANSFORM CHILDREN INTO
PROGRAMMERS OR ENGINEERS
3
FRENCH TOUCH
&
FRENCH TECH
OF COURSE, THIS CES WILL ALSO BE AN UNFORGETTABLE SADLY SOUVENIR FOR
FRENCH PEOPLE, BECAUSE OF THE CHARLIE HEBDO ATTACK.
BEING SO FAR AT THIS EXTREMELY SHOCKING MOMENT WAS SO PAINFULL.
BUT WE SPONTANEOUSLY GATHERED OURSELVES TO SHOW OUR SUPPORT AND TO
STRUGGLE OUR SORROW TOGETHER.

A FEW MORE GADGETS, FUNNY, USELESS OR EXCITING, IT’S UP TO YOU

1. Internet of Things : truly
the next big thing
2. Makers could become
« mainstream » earlier than
you expect
3. Our kids will help us to
accept robots in our house
3. French Tech is
the next big thing (too ;)
