Centennial Campus is NC State University's 1,227 acre campus located adjacent to its main campus. It focuses on partnerships between the university and industry/government in fields like engineering, textiles, and veterinary medicine. There are currently 62 partners with $700 million invested in buildings, employing over 11,000 people across 34 buildings. The campus plans to grow to 9 million square feet serving 130 partners and 30,000 employees, students, and residents over the next 20 years. Current partners are predominantly industry focused and come from various domestic and international locations. The campus aims to combine physical and virtual research through its next phase, creating a virtual research campus allowing remote control of equipment worldwide.
