This document analyzes 97 visits to the emergency department by 74 centenarian patients in Salamanca, Spain in 2012. It finds that most patients were female (71%) and living in urban areas (54%). Common issues seen included injuries, circulatory problems, and respiratory diseases. Of the patients admitted to the hospital, 15.4% died during their stay, though none died in the emergency department. The care of centenarian patients is becoming more common in emergency rooms, and they tend to have multiple medical issues and take many medications.
